Instrumental Duet Flute,Instrumental Duet,Viola - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.589372 By John Denver. By Mel Torme and Robert Wells. Arranged by David McKeown. Christmas,Holiday,Jazz. Score and parts. 3 pages. David McKeown #6065191. Published by David McKeown (A0.589372). The Christmas Song is better known to many by its first line Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire. The song was written on a hot summer day in 1945 by Mel Torme and Bob Wells who were trying to cool down by composing a wintry lyric. It was first recorded by Nat King Cole the following year and was an instant hit. Nat King Cole revisited the song several times in his career and it has also been recorded by just about every noteworthy popular artist since, from Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Peggy Lee, Doris Day, Ella Fitzgerald, Paul McCartney to The Jacksons, and many more. This version is arranged as a duet for one Flute and one Viola. Musicians at an intermediate standard will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performances, with both parts enjoying melodic interest. Total performance time is around four minutes. Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to approach expressive playing. Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1210386 Composed by Anna Sosenko. Arranged by Scott S. Stewart. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jazz,Singer/Songwriter,Standards. Score. 6 pages. Scott S. Stewart #808117. Published by Scott S. Stewart (A0.1210386). The cabaret-ballad “Darling, Je Vous Aime Beaucoupâ€, words and music by Anna Sosenko was composed in 1935.  The romantic and bi-lingual lyrics about an English lad who had fallen in love with a Parisian girl became immensely popular with Allied servicemen during WW II.  Sosenko was also the manager of singer-pianist, “the incomparable Hildegarde†(Hildegarde Loretta Sell) who adopted the song as her theme song, and gave it its popularity.  This arrangement is in a simple cabaret ballad style for solo voice and pianist. Performance time: 3:55+-  An excellent introduction piece to cabaret style, the French language, women composers, the first of single-name entertainers, a song that deserves its place in the Great American Songbook - is worth a place on your repertoire list.
