Instructive Edition. Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Edited by Frederic Lamond. Sonata. Edition Breitkopf. The Scotsman and his Beethoven - The 32 Piano Sonatas in the Instructive Edition, edited and supplied with fingerings by Frederic LamondHave a look into EB 4342. Classical. Score. 320 pages. Breitkopf and Haertel - Digital #EB-4342. Published by Breitkopf and Haertel - Digital (B8.EB-4342).

ISBN 9790004162873. 9 x 12 in inches.

Whereas in past decades Urtext editions with assorted aspirations and readings by various editors were the primary points of departure in addressing Beethoven's piano sonatas, today it is more often the question of what significance so-called instructive editions have in the history of interpretation, what additional benefit is generated from them, and wherein lies their legitimacy. Unlike his teacher Hans von Bulow in his edition of the sonatas, Lamond did not allow any intervention in the music text per se. His indications give instead interpretive approaches, additionally inspiring today's musicians in the realization of the musical composition.

By the beginning of the 20th century he was a successful and celebrated pianist, concertizing in the US and across much of Europe. He repeatedly caused a stir with his Beethoven projects such as performing sixteen sonatas as well as the Diabelli and Eroica variations within four days at the Queen's Hall in London (1925). Dating from this period is also his edition of Beethoven's 32 piano sonatas that first appeared from Breitkopf & Hartel in 1923. Frederic Lamond thus epitomizes Beethoven interpretation. Even today his name is still associated primarily with Beethoven.

The present ,,Instructive Edition of Beethoven's 32 Piano Sonatas is a part of the ,,Breitkopf Originals series on the occasion of Beethoven's 250th Birthday in 2020. Apart from the established Urtext editions, this reissue opens up a fascinating view on the interpretation- and performance practice of one of the most important Beethoven interpreters in the 19th and 20th century.

Composed by Gustav Mahler. Arranged by Ralph Sauer. Romantic Period. Score and part. 40 pages. Gordon Cherry #619474. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.1013891).

The songs of Des Knaben Wunderhorn (The Youth's Magic Horn) by Gustav Mahler are set for voice and piano and voice and orchestra taken from German folk poems assembled and published by editors Arnim and Brentano around 1805-08. The Vier Lieder beautifully edited for Trombone (Tenor or Bass) by Ralph Sauer are taken from Mahler's fourth set of these poems published in 1899. The four songs are: I. Wer hat dies Liedlein erdacht? (Who has created this song?) II. Lob des hohen Verstandes (In praise of lofty intellect) III. Verlor’ne Müh’ (Labor lost) IV. Lied des Verfolgten im Turm (Song of the persecuted in the tower) Mr. Sauer also includes the German lyrics with English translations. Altogether the songs are about 12 minutes in length. The range is suitable for moderately advanced performers.

SKU: A0.1177429

Major/Minor/Pentatonic Forms for Guitar (Sheet Music + Tab + Fretboard)

Learn every key on guitar with very few pages.
Pages: 13

Bonus Pages:
1. A Major Scale across the full neck (to see how they all combine resulting in knowing the full neck)
2. Blank scale chart to add in memorization and making alterations.

Scales included:
1. F Major
2. C Major
3. G Major
4. D Major
5. A Major

Tips:
1. There is a reason why it is not 12 or 24 scales. Since these scales are easy to move higher or lower, just these 5 Major will lead to all 24 major/minor keys throughout the entire fretboard. Therefore, making a C# Major scale chart is uneccessary, and if you are doing so, you may be over thinking music. Instead, it is better to ask yourself how do I play C major but 1 pitch higher and use previous work you have done to your advantage.
2. These scales do not end on the home note. This is a disadvantage in this way, however, knowing large portions of the scale neck in one position will allow you to play a key throughout the fretboard with no gaps in notes. In otherwords, learning one ocatave scales can have concise music theory, but it's impossible to know the scale in every part of the neck completely that way.

Features:
1. Color coding. Blue notes are home (tonic) notes. Red notes are away (dominant) notes. Simplifying harmony this much can often make you more creative not less since you are crafting the harmonies yourself.
2. Left hand fingerings added. Don't mistake these for fingering numbers.
3. Letter names to aid in memorization.

Notes:
I realize that the hand written font doesn't look the most professional, however this is intentional. I tried making these in photo editors, but since every shape was perfect they were actually harder to memorize from (kind of living driving in a tunnel with no landmarks).
