Cello,Guitar,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1468192 Composed by Justus Johann Friedrich Dotzauer. Arranged by Emanuele Buono, Josephine Vains, and Michele Galvagno. 19th Century,Classical,Instructional,Romantic Period. 36 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #1046502. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1468192). The production for Cello and Guitar is, in general, quite scarce, and while one could be repelled from this instrumentation because of the potential sound balance issues, the actual result is, in truth, remarkable and surprising at the same time.During the 1810s, Dotzauer wrote three opuses involving the guitar, making us assume there could have been a player to serve as source for his inspiration. This Pot-pourri, Op. 21, composed around 1811 and marked for publication by Breitkopf & Härtel only in 1817, is a 9-minutes-long piece in five parts in the key of E minor. A dramatic, long introduction leads the way to a Gavotte-like Andante, whose melody is constantly varied and developed to put the singing qualities of the soloist in the spotlight. A dreaming Larghetto, in G major, prepares us for the coming back of the Andante, and for the closing, rushing Presto. This edition comes in a full score and cello part that closely follow Dotzauer’s instructions, plus several bonuses: A guitar part with annotations by Emanuele Buono, 1st-prize winner of the “Michele Pittaluga” competition in 2013Two additional cello parts, one with historical performance suggestions by Australian cellist Josephine Vains, and one with modern performance suggestions by Michele Galvagno.

Solo Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.985324 Composed by Jeremiah Lawson. Contemporary. Individual part. 6 pages. Jeremiah Lawson #6012227. Published by Jeremiah Lawson (A0.985324). I composed my second guitar sonata in 2010. Guitar Sonata No. 2 in C major is six pages long, has two movements, and its estimated performance time is 8:30 to 9:00. The first movement, Inner Visions & Power Puffs, is a zippy sonata form opening with a 12-bar blues Theme 1. After a conventional modulating transition Theme 2 appears in the traditional key of G major. The title of the movement alludes to the Stevie Wonder album Innervisions and, of course, the Powerpuff Girls. The sonata form has a climax by way of three Bartok pizzicati on the dominant pedal to depict the girls defeating Mojo Jojo and putting him in jail.  The second movement is a lullaby with variations. The lullaby is an original song I used to sing for one of my nieces to help her fall asleep. The complete sonata has been recorded by Daniel Estrem and is available on the Magnatune release Estrem Plays Lawson.http://magnatune.com/artists/albums/estrem-estremlawson/I played movement 1 at a Seattle Classic Guitar Society open mic in 2012 on a warm summer Friday night and there were kids playing and screaming in the background, which helped set the mood of the sonata rather than break it.

Solo Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1032084 Composed by Edwin Culver. 20th Century,Contemporary. Individual part. 4 pages. Edwin Culver #4347575. Published by Edwin Culver (A0.1032084). Classical Guitar Solo - IntermediateComposed by Edwin Culver (1992-) 4 Pages.  Duration 7'30Composer's note: Have you ever felt stuck? Trapped by something you can’t fully understand no matter how hard you try?  Perhaps it’s something from our past that we never invited...or something we’ve missed in our closest relationships, maybe it’s just the dread we’ve felt waking up early in the morning to repeat the daily grind.  We work hard to try and propel ourselves out of this nightmare, but we never seem to get totally free, in fact sometimes it feels like we’re just making ourselves feel worse by failing to overcome it yet again. This piece, ...a bridge a-way, exits within, represents that feedback loop, that stuckness.    The piece came to me when I felt stuck in life by several things - old scars, old habits, crippling emotions.  I had been wanting to write something in a minimalist style for the guitar for quite some time and the repetition found in so much minimalist music seemed like the obvious way for expressing this stuckness.  There’s constant motion in the piece, just like when we try to take constant action in our lives to improve our circumstances. But all this motion never seems to get us anywhere new. We’re spinning our wheels…But one of the interesting things about great minimalist music is that it’s not merely about repetition.  I don’t believe the greatest minimalists were concerned with having less stuff in their music for the sake of having less.  Instead, what I think they more often aimed for was producing the biggest emotional impact that they could through the tiniest of changes.  And if in your mind’s eye you zoom out from one of these minimalist masterworks and perceive it on a grand scale, you realize that despite all the seemingly redundant repetition in the moment the piece actually covers a huge distance because all those tiny changes add up.Likewise, in ...a bridge a-way, exits within, it seems like the performer can’t free himself from the territory of the first position on the guitar for the longest time.  Even when he does venture higher up the instrument he’s always inextricably pulled back to the starting point. But small changes can have a profound impact. It doesn’t feel like we’re making headway whenever we’re having to crawl out of our skin - until, suddenly, when it’s all over.  And you hear this towards the end of the piece, when there’s a sudden magnetic force that pulls the music from a low A to a high E-natural.  From A to E, a bridge to exits eternal. The bridge has been found within, in the One I’ve put my trust in, because I can’t reach my eternal destiny on my own.   This is ...a bridge a-way, exits within.

Published by Keith Gehle (A0.1320014). The joyful tune of this Christmas classic is of Welsh origin and dates back to the 1700’s. This solo guitar arrangement features an intro of naturally occurring guitar harmonics and a surprise modulation from A major to D major halfway through adding a pleasant change to this repetitive yet catchy melody. This comfortable arrangement includes detailed fingerings, standard notation with tablature for ease of learning. Deck the Halls is a very fun piece to play for Christmas holiday gatherings and not too challenging for an intermediate player.

David Warin Solomons #38751. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576597). This jaunty number in swing time was originally a satirical song for alto and piano or alto and guitar (Looking just looking at the personal ads) - which is also available on this site. I decided that the music on its own without words (but with a few variations) would also work well... so here is Springtime jaunt. Versions are available for clarinet and piano, clarinet and guitar, flute and piano and flute and guitar The pdf file contains score and separate part The sound sample is an electronic preview.
