Composed by Thomas Moore (1779-1852). Arranged by John Pinno. Classical,Concert,Holiday. Score and parts. 4 pages. John Pinno #2551071. Published by John Pinno (A0.775407).
An arrangement for solo voice and classical guitar of the song composed by Thomas Moore in the early 19th century. The song evokes the spirit of the hilltop castle home of the ancient Irish kings, through the symbol of the harp, the traditional instrument of the Irish people.
The vocal part could be taken by soprano, alto, or tenor voice ranges, and if the pitch is too low for a particular voice, the guitarist could use a capo to raise the pitch of the guitar.
This arrangement was done in honor of Paul Coates, who was the yoga teacher for my wife and I from 1993-2011, and he of Irish heritage, would often humorously say as he had the class up in a shoulder stand, and now we'll all sing a verse of The Harp That Once Through Tara's Halls!
