Composed by David McKeown. African,Folk,Holiday,Love,Spiritual,World. Score and parts. 5 pages. David McKeown #6246255. Published by David McKeown (A0.590830).

حب (Hubb, Arabic for Love), is a beautiful original composition by David McKeown, arranged as a duet for one Trumpet and one Tenor Saxophone, and is one of series of pieces celebrating Love in different languages around the world.

This duet is inspired by the Andalusi music of the Maghreb. The music is thought to have originated in Muslim Spain a thousand years ago and spread across North Africa in the following centuries. The music is set to the ancient Muwasha poetry, often with secular themes such as love. Andalusi music remains popular today, especially in Morocco, and has influenced many other forms of Arab music. ØØ¨ aims to capture the melody and spirit of this timeless music.

حب is written for players at an advanced intermediate standard and upwards. The preamble is in free time, like an improvisation, followed by the melody and instrumental interludes in a typical ten beat cycle. حب has a performance time of around three minutes. Click on the link above to listen to a full YouTube performance of حب played on Clarinet.

Amore, (Italian for Love), is a beautiful original composition by David McKeown, arranged as a duet for one Trumpet and one Tenor Saxophone, and is one of series of pieces celebrating Love in different languages around the world.

This duet is inspired by late nineteenth century Italian Opera, written by such composers as Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini. Love themes were the common currency of their arias, and few genres of music can match their emotional depth and intensity.

If you play to an advanced intermediate standard and upwards, then you and your audience will enjoy this piece. The Waltz rhythm should carry the melody forward with momentum and following the articulation in the score will help convey the style. Amore has a performance time of around three minutes. Composed by John Newton. Arranged by David McKeown. Christian,Gospel,Praise & Worship,Sacred,Spiritual. Score and part. 3 pages. David McKeown #6411255. Published by David McKeown (A0.592651).

Amazing Grace is a beautiful hymn arranged here for Solo Baritone Saxophone and Piano.

Amazing Grace is perhaps the best-known and best-loved hymn in the world. The writer, John Newton, led a dissolute life as sailor in the slave trade for many years before marriage, along with a close encounter with death at sea, dramatically changed his perspective. He lived out his later years as a devout and charismatic clergyman in the English countryside, renowned for his direct and personal style. The words he wrote in Amazing Grace are an intimate retelling of his spiritual journey.

The hymn was written in 1773, and was sung to many different melodies initially, but since the mid nineteenth century it has become most closely associated with the famous folk tune melody presented here, New Britain.

Shall We Gather at The River is an American nineteenth century hymn often sung in a gospel style. This version is arranged as a duet for one Flute and one Alto Saxophone.

Shall We Gather at The River was composed in 1865 by a Baptist minister from New York, Robert Lowry. Shall We Gather at The River is simply arranged in keys and range best suited to the instruments. The hymn is played three times in a slow swing style, with a key change on the final verse and chorus. Click the link above to listen to a full Youtube performance of the Clarinet version of this duet.

Composed by Traditional. Arranged by David McKeown. Jewish,Wedding,World. Score and parts. 4 pages. David McKeown #6078935. Published by David McKeown (A0.589555).

Odessa Bulgar is a Jewish Folk tune, often performed by Klezmer musicians. This version is arranged as a duet for one Trumpet and one Tenor Saxophone.

For many traditional Klezmer tunes, the first clues of their existence comes from bands making discs at the dawn of the recording era. In this case, Odessa Bulgar first appeared in a 1919 recording by Abe Schwartz’s Orchestra. Schwartz was born in Romania and emigrated to the USA around 1900, thereafter enjoying a long career in the music industry. Odessa Bulgar is a happy piece designed for dancing at celebrations.

Odessa Bulgar is simply arranged in a key and range best suited to the instruments. The melody is in three sections; overall the tune is played twice with a coda and with constant variations in the accompaniment. Odessa Bulgar is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above. With a performance time of around two and a half minutes, this version of Odessa Bulgar is perfect for weddings, celebrations and concert performances, both formal and informal. Composed by Traditional. Arranged by David McKeown. Jewish,Wedding,World. Score and parts. 5 pages. David McKeown #6022285. Published by David McKeown (A0.589332).

Silver Wedding, (Die Silberne Khasene in Yiddish), is a Jewish Folk tune, often performed by Klezmer musicians. This version is arranged as a duet for one Trumpet and one Tenor Saxophone.

Jewish Wedding bands, prominent in early twentieth century New York, were well placed to take advantage of the phonograph recording revolution. Accordingly, we are fortunate to have a rich record of the musical style of the time. Silver Wedding first appeared in a 1915 recording by Abe Elenkrig’s Orchestra. Elenkrig was born in Ukraine, which may point to the origins of the tune. Silver Wedding is in a Bulgar style, a happy piece designed to escort the newly-weds from the ceremony to the feast.

Silver Wedding is simply arranged in a key and range best suited to the instruments. The melody is in three sections; overall the tune is played twice with a short introduction and coda and with constant variations in the accompaniment. Silver Wedding is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above. With a performance time of around three minutes, this version of Silver Wedding is perfect for weddings, celebrations and concert performances, both formal and informal. Composed by David McKeown. Broadway,Holiday,Love,Musical/Show,Wedding. Score and parts. 4 pages. David McKeown #6216881. Published by David McKeown (A0.590604).

Love is a beautiful original composition by David McKeown, arranged as a duet for one Soprano Saxophone and Clarinet, and is one of series of pieces celebrating Love in different languages around the world.

This duet is inspired by the songs from the great American Songbook. Musical theatre on Broadway reached its heyday in the ‘30s and ‘40s with composers such as George Gershwin and Cole Porter writing regular new shows. This period coincided with the jazz and swing era; as well as countless instrumental interpretations, singers such as Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald brought these songs to new audiences outside the theatre. They remain popular today, providing a soundtrack for every romantic occasion, and Love aims to capture the melody, form and spirit of these timeless songs.

Love is written for players at an intermediate standard and upwards. Expressive throughout, after the rubato preamble, the song is a classic 32 bar AABA structure. Love has a performance time of around three minutes and a half minutes. Click the link above to listen to a full YouTube performance the Clarinet version of this duet.
