Instrumental Duet Alto Saxophone,Instrumental Duet,Trumpet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.590715 Composed by David McKeown. Holiday,Latin,Love,Wedding,World. Score and parts. 5 pages. David McKeown #6233627. Published by David McKeown (A0.590715). Amor, (Portuguese for Love), is an exciting original composition by David McKeown, arranged as a duet for one Trumpet and one Alto Saxophone, and is one of series of pieces celebrating Love in different languages around the world. This duet is based on the Brazilian style of Bossa Nova which evolved in Rio de Janeiro during the late 1950s. Bossa in its purest form is lyrical song accompanied by nylon-stringed guitar. The rhythm derives from Samba but is played at around half tempo. The harmony is often complex and influenced by jazz; indeed it was the collaboration between guitarist João Gilberto and American Saxophonist Stan Getz that led to the huge international popularity of Bossa Nova in the 1960s and beyond. If you play to an intermediate standard and upwards, then you and your audience will enjoy this piece. Rhythms should be lightly articulated, the melody should always flow, and following the articulation in the score will help convey the style. Amor has a performance time of around three minutes. David McKeown #6285999. Published by David McKeown (A0.591173). The Jellybean Jive is a fun and original duet written by David McKeown for one Clarinet and one Tenor Saxophone. The Jellybean Jive is one in a series of ten Easter-themed duets each written in a different American dance style. The Second World War brought Swing and Lindy Hop dancing to the UK and British audiences preferred to call it Jive. The Jellybean Jive is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above, with the accessible key and range balanced by the fast tempo, some syncopated rhythms and accidentals. With a playing-time of around one and a half minutes, The Jellybean Jive is a perfect upbeat addition to any performance program, formal or informal. Click the link above to listen to a full performance of the clarinet version of this duet on YouTube. There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203

Score and parts. 4 pages. David McKeown #6013335. Published by David McKeown (A0.588456). The Londonderry Air is among the best loved melodies of Ireland.
