SKU: A0.591442

Composed by David McKeown. Blues,Easter,Pop,R & B,Rock. Score. 3 pages. David McKeown #6293937. Published by David McKeown (A0.591442).

The Easter Egg Rock is a fun and original duet written by David McKeown for two Trumpets

The Easter Egg Rock is one in a series of ten Easter-themed duets each written in a different American dance style. Modern Rock music has its origins in Rock’n’Roll, with the first use of the word in 1951 by an Ohio DJ.  The first big hit was Bill Haley’s Rock Around the Clockin 1955, but other artists such as Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddley, Gene Vincent and Little Richard all have strong claims to being the first Rock’n’Roll artist.

The Easter Egg Rock is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above, with the accessible key and range balanced by the fast tempo and syncopated rhythms and accidentals. With a playing-time of around one and a half minutes, The Easter Egg Rock is a perfect upbeat addition to any performance program, formal or informal. Ale Brider is a Yiddish Folk song, often performed by Klezmer musicians. This version is arranged as a duet for two Trumpets.

The music for Ale Brider is a traditional East European melody of unknown origin. The title Ale Brider, (We Are All Brothers), reflected his socialist beliefs.

Ale Brider is simply arranged in a key and range best suited to the instruments. The melody is in two sections and is played three times with constant variations in the accompaniment. Ale Brider is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above. With a performance time of three minutes, this version of Ale Brider is perfect for concert performances, both formal and informal. Composed by David McKeown. Holiday,Love,Wedding,World. Score. 4 pages. David McKeown #6211997. Published by David McKeown (A0.590475).

Liebe, (German for Love), is a beautiful original composition by David McKeown, arranged as a duet for two Trumpets.

This duet is inspired by the German Baroque style, particularly the slow compound-time compositions of JS Bach and the canonic sonatas written by GP Telemann. Both composers filled their works with deep emotion, transcending the strict musical rules of the period. Liebe is a Canon, with the first part following the second throughout, one bar behind, like lovers in intimate conversation.

Liebe is written for players at an intermediate standard and upwards. The melody should always carry momentum and adding plenty of expression will help convey the style. Liebe has a performance time of around three minutes. Hava Nagila is a Hebrew Folk tune, often performed by Klezmer musicians. This version is arranged as a duet for two Trumpets.

Hava Nagila was originally a Nigun melody thought to have originated in the Ukraine. In 1918 a professor and musicologist at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Abraham Zevi Idelsohn, set the tune to words adapted from Psalm 118. Hava Nagila was first performed at celebrations at the end of the Great War and quickly spread throughout the Jewish diaspora. In the fifties and sixties, performances by singers as diverse as Harry Belafonte and Bob Dylan popularised the song far beyond its original Jewish audience. Hava Nagila remains one of the best-known and loved Klezmer standards today, traditionally performed at Jewish celebrations.

Hava Nagila is simply arranged in a key and range best suited to the instruments. After a steady beginning, the melody gradually increases in tempo, with constant variations in the accompaniment. Hava Nagila is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above. With a performance time of around two and a half minutes, this version of Hava Nagila is perfect for celebrations, weddings and concert performances, both formal and informal.
