SKU: A0.742702

Composed by Public Domain. Arranged by Jeff D. Anderson. Christian,Praise & Worship,Sacred,Spiritual. Score and parts. 82 pages. AnderKamp Music #3639401. Published by AnderKamp Music (A0.742702).

This is a wide, sweeping and pastoral arrangement of this timeless hymn arranged in a John Barry (Dances With Wolves, Out of Africa) sort of style.

Highly praised and incredibly gifted arranger and orchestrator Jim Gray asked Jeff Anderson to create an arrangement for The Nashville Praise Symphony. The Nashville Praise Symphony (NPS) is an auditioned orchestral group under the direction of Camp Kirkland.

After NPS performed this arrangement for a season, Jeff is excited to now make this arrangement available for purchase. Designed for full orchestra, this beautiful, peaceful arrangement would serve perfectly as an offertory or set-up for a message/sermon.

UPC: 749193016879.

Prior to his death, Johnnie Carl was the orchestra conductor, arranger, and orchestrator for the Crystal Cathedral Television Ministries of Robert Schuller. A Song of Peace is one of Carl's most triumphant achievements. Based on Jean Sibelius's symphonic poem Finlandia, A Song of Peace speaks of the glory of God's creation and the hope that God's work may abound throughout the nation. Written for SATB choir with organ accompaniment, brass and percussion, or full orchestra, this piece will be an outstanding addition to church services, festival choirs, school concerts, or patriotic events. Instrumentation: 3 Fl, 2 Ob, 3 Cl, 2 Bsn, 3 Tpt, 4 Hn, 3 Tbn, Tuba, Harp, Organ or Pno, Timp, Perc, Strings.

Composed by Camille Saint-Saens. Arranged by Arkady Leytush. 20th Century. Score and parts. 57 pages. Arkady Leytush #6535793. Published by Arkady Leytush (A0.1008422).

I would rather call this opus by Saint-Saens The Frenchman in Morocco.
It is known that composer S-S traveled a lot during his rather long and productive life. Despite the obvious oriental flavor of the thematic material in this work, one can clearly feel the western cut, the clarity of the form and the recognizability of the techniques characteristic of classical music. In my transcription, I have not tried to imitate his transparent and always convincing orchestrations. This music itself led me on the path of creating a picture from the Arab world.

Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Arte Nova Music Lab. Baroque,Concert,Standards,World. Score and parts. 111 pages. Arte Nova Music Lab #3005423. Published by Arte Nova Music Lab (A0.742401).

The four orchestral suites (called ouvertures by their author), BWV 1066–1069 are four suites by Johann Sebastian Bach. The name ouverture refers only in part to the opening movement in the style of the French overture, in which a majestic opening section in relatively slow dotted-note rhythm in duple meter is followed by a fast fugal section, then rounded off with a short recapitulation of the opening music. More broadly, the term was used in Baroque Germany for a suite of dance-pieces in French Baroque style preceded by such an ouverture. This genre was extremely popular in Germany during Bach's day, and he showed far less interest in it than was usual: Robin Stowell writes that Telemann's 135 surviving examples [represent] only a fraction of those he is known to have written;[1] Christoph Graupner left 85; and Johann Friedrich Fasch left almost 100. Bach did write several other ouverture (suites) for solo instruments, notably the Cello Suite no. 5, BWV 1011, which also exists in the autograph Lute Suite in G minor, BWV 995, the Keyboard Partita no. 4 in D, BWV 828, and the Overture in the French style, BWV 831 for keyboard. The two keyboard works are among the few Bach published, and he prepared the lute suite for a Monsieur Schouster, presumably for a fee, so all three may attest to the form's popularity.

Scholars believe that Bach did not conceive of the four orchestral suites as a set (in the way he conceived of the Brandenburg Concertos), since the sources are various, as detailed below.

The Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis catalogue includes a fifth suite, BWV 1070 in G minor. However, this work is highly unlikely to have been composed by J. S. Bach. Taken from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orchestral_suites_(Bach)

A. Arensky Double Concerto for Violin, Cello and Orchestra, Based on Piano Trio D - minor, Op.32, Orchestrated by A. Leytush. A double concert for violin and cello is difficult to find in the list of works of Russian composers of the 19th century. There are simply no such well-known works. I decided to take a chance by trying to do an orchestral transcription of the brilliant Arensky Piano Trio D minor op. 32, where the parts of the solo violin and cello remained in their place, and the piano part was completely replaced by the orchestra. Particular attention is paid to the balance of sound between solo instruments and the orchestra.

What is American Classical music? This CD contains Mark O'Connor's latest orchestral works: Americana Symphony Variations on Appalachia Waltz(2006) and Concerto No. 6 Old Brass (2003). Sony Classical//BMG label director Gilbert Hetherwick explains; Dvorak and Copland painted symphonic landscapes using melodies inspired by the Americana tradition, and Mark O'Connor actually comes from that tradition itself. He's lived it every day of his life. And you hear it in every note of his Americana Symphony. For the majority of his solo career, O'Connor has dedicated himself to composing for orchestra: he has written six full-length concertos, several orchestral suites and string orchestra compositions, and most recently his first Symphony.

David Wallace, Juilliard School faculty member and Senior Teaching Artist with the New York Philharmonic, comments on the overall characteristics of O'Connor's music: The Americana Symphony combines historical narrative with classical and folk variation principles. The Symphony contains instrumental virtuosity, rhythmic drive, poignant lyricism, and probing counterpoint. With the Americana Symphony, Mark O'Connor provides his answer to a question that has intrigued U. S. composers since the debut of Dvorak's New World Symphony in 1892: How do you write the great American Symphony?

William Intrilligator, artistic director of the Dubuque Symphony, conducted one of the first performances of the Americana Symphony: Very few pieces of new music have the same emotional and visceral effect as this Symphony, he writes. It has such power and beauty, and these traits are expressed in original ways that are pure O'Connor and truly American.

Marin Alsop, artistic director of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and this recording's conductor of the Americana Symphony, calls the Symphony simply A hit!

Composed by Pietro Mascagni. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. 19th Century,20th Century,Opera,Religious,Romantic Period. 33 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #959220. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1374671).

Pietro Mascagniâ??s (1863â??1945) Intermezzo Sinfonico from his opera Cavalleria Rusticana needs no presentation. The idea of this edition comes from an update to an arrangement created for a friendâ??s wedding in 2010. While arranging, I stumbled upon the composerâ??s autograph of this Intermezzo, for piano solo, and decided to add a modern engraving of it to the mix. Finally, an orchestral score and a full set of parts have been included to close the circle.

There are, therefore, three versions of this piece:

  • ASE 0055: for piano solo, based on the composerâ??s autograph from 1888.
  • ASE 0057: arrangement for cello ensemble (min. 8 cellos), based on the piano part and not on the orchestral version, which differs greatly in dynamics and agogic marking
  • ASE 0058: original orchestration, score and parts
This editionâ??s piano solo and original orchestration versions inaugurate a new series dedicated to Italian composers and/or to composers who thought about Italy while writing their music. It is called: Viva lâ??Italia!
