Javier Martínez (Pd The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, MA Berklee College of Music) is a recognized producer, arranger, composer and educator in Colombia and England, where he has taught advanced production, mixing, mastering and audio technology for over 20 years. An independent writer/producer and recording engineer, his credits include works and scores for Colombian TV Channels, Moscow Symphonic Orchestra, Iberoamerican Orchestra (based at Barcelona, Spain) and almost 200 albums and films. From his Ingeson Recording Studio, he’s completed film, video and multimedia original scores for clients like Nike, Honda, Chevrolet, Yoyo Music USA Inc, Mitsubishi, Mundo Arts, SAAB Miller and RCN Television. His international experience as arranger, engineer and producer includes workshops with sir Paul McCartney, Radio Head, Charlie Morgan (Elton John), and recordings at Scotland (Kim Edgar), Switzerland (Sebastian Portillo), Germany (Toby Freissler) and Spain (Iberoamerican Orchestra). Programmer and sound designer, he works with best seller music production tools, like Protools 12, Logic Pro X, Reason 6, Finale 2014, Musescore and uses top music samplers from brands like Sounds Online, Native Instruments and Vir2, among others. He has worked also with several companies as manager and director, with duties as budget organization, development of musical projects and head of producers and engineers at recording studios.

The purpose of this arrangement is to furnish material for a Junior High or Senior High Orchestra to use in playing a concerts for the Kindergarten/1st Grade/2nd Grade and 3rd Grade Kids. This gives the players an chance to play a fun concert for people they know---and is also a great recruiting tool for future orchestra members. The tunes are all ones that the younger kids know , or should know.  A suggested plan for doing this is on the back cover--a list of the 20 tunes is included. Crystal Clear is an original composition for Orchestra with a theme of clear and simple lines reflecting the nature and symmetry of crystals found in the natural world – The original short tune was written in 2001 – Expanded into a full orchestra piece in 2019.

It is scored for full orchestra with only two Trumpets and Horn parts.  There is a 3rd Violin part – a sub for the Viola part with minor changes in written ranges. The only percussion parts are for Glockenspiel and Timpani.

A note from the composer: I wrote Farewell Dream Garden for the International Music in the Garden Composers’ Competition Wroclaw - Kraków 2010/2011. The competition was sponsored by the Botanical Gardens of Wroclaw to commemorate the 200th anniversary of their founding. The guidelines of the competition suggested a musical portrayal of times of day in the garden and I chose to depict nighttime, or more specifically, dreaming. My idea of a night garden is deeply lyrical, emotional, and colorful. Broadly arching phrases of the soprano vocalise, ebbs and flows of the string orchestra, and intricate flute textures all compound to make Farewell one of my most romantic and spectacular compositions to date. The composition won the second prize in the competition.
