Sir Edward William Elgar (1857 - 1934) was an English composer, many of whose works have entered the British and international classical concert repertoire. Among his best-known compositions are orchestral works including the Enigma Variations, the Pomp and Circumstance Marches, concertos for violin and cello, and two symphonies. He also composed choral works, including The Dream of Gerontius, chamber music and songs. He was appointed Master of the King's Musick in 1924.

This is the first publication of the Jewish Dance for cello solo (arranged for viola solo) and symphony orchestra by Lev PULVER (1883 – 1970), based on the autograph manuscript of the orchestral score, realized and edited by Sergei Pichugin. The piece was composed in 1942–43 in the midst of World War II. Presumably it was never performed since 1950, being completely forgotten. Jewish Dance is definitely among the masterpieces of Yiddish musical culture of the 20th century.

This beautiful, melodic movement, taken from Léon Boëllmann's famous Suite Gothique for Organ, has finally been arranged for Full Orchestra. The movement opens with a wonderful clarinet solo, accompanied by delicate strings, before gradually building up towards a full orchestral texture. The faster middle section offers a distinct contrast, with exquisite harmonies being brought to the fore by the rich brass section.

This arrangement is the ideal concert piece, fully capable of being performed as a stand-alone movement. The other movements will be available soon from the same publisher.

This powerful arrangement of this majestic and well known hymn will be a welcome addition to your orchestral library. Jeff arranged this with a more modern cinematic approach to orchestra. This means that although the arrangement may sound big and bombastic, it is not extremely difficult to play and does not require a huge group for a successful performance. A lot of the brass are in unison or octaves so you don’t have to have four french horns to play this piece. Though four horns would be NICE.

The flexibility in this arrangement is that this modern film score approach means you can play this arrangement when you only have a couple trumpets and a horn BUT you can absolutely play this piece with four horns, tons of trumpets and a huge low brass section and it will be gigantic! Most of the giant action films you hear today record with 6-8 (French) horns and they are often playing in unison or octaves. That is part of the massive sound. So, this arrangement can absolutely grow with your group. And if you’ve got extra folks that want to play, this is the PERFECT opportunity to feature a large group.

Henri Wieniawski composed two Polonaises The Polonaise No. 1, Op.4 in D-major, emerges as a youthful endeavor, while the Op.21 in A-major stands as one of his final compositions.

Completed in 1870, the Polonaise in A-major debuted with orchestral accompaniment in St. Petersburg, followed by a piano-accompanied performance in Warsaw, showcasing Wieniawski's adaptability. The piece received critical acclaim from its inception, lauded as a magnificent piece, a sentiment echoed in subsequent reviews across Russian and Western European publications.

Published by Schott Publishers in Mainz around 1875, the Polonaise in A-major reveals a well-developed concert piece. The solo violin assumes a dominant role, with the orchestra primarily providing harmonic support. The middle fragment introduces contrast through a change in key and tempo, featuring a balanced dialogue between the instruments.
