Composed by Carson Cooman. Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 55 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3043953. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533762).

Flute Concerto (2006) was commissioned by flutist Judith von Hopf and the
Kiev Philharmonic and premiered by them under the direction of Guido
Lamell. The work is in two movements: Chanson and Fantasy Variations.
The first movement, Chanson, is an extended ā€œsongā€ that develops through a
variety of textures. The opening song material is centered around G#. In turn,
this G# is revealed to be a quasi-dominant of a D centered sonority. (A brief
coda returns to G#, in preparation for the D center of the second movement.)
The second movement, Fantasy Variations, is cast as two presentations of
the theme surrounding five free variations, plus a coda. The theme serves as
the basis of the musical material for each variation as well as the structural
template for each. Also, each variation contains material referring back
specifically to the previous variation.
The opening theme is declamatory and massive. The first variation is fast
and limber. The second variation is introspective and stratified. The third
variation is fleeting. The fourth variation is distant and spare. The fifth
variation is fast and driving. The final theme begins whispered and slowly
regains its declamatory nature before a brief and intense coda ends the work
in a blaze.

This item is the score and the solo part only. The orchestral parts are on rental from the publisher. The piano reduction is for sale as a seperate item.

Composed by Scott Markle. 20th Century,Baroque,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 122 pages. MarcoPolo Press #5755357. Published by MarcoPolo Press (A0.1021047).

Sinfonietta No.1 (Transformations) is an intermediate orchestral pieces in four movements that is almost 10 minutes (9:53) long. It is called a sinfonietta because, while it has the elements of a full symphony, it is shorter. The entire piece is based on the motif in the first bar of the first movement, and that motif get transformed (hence the subtitle Transformations) in many different ways. It is like how a person changes in various situations and in various stages of their life. The first movement (Allegretto) is in sonata form, the second (Andante Adagio) is in a quasi ABA form, the third (Scherzoish) is a Baroque-like quasi scherzo and trio with a modified scherzo at the end, and the fourth (Theme & Variations) is a theme with 3 variations, but elements of the first 3 movements are repeated at the end. .

By Bradley Sowash. By Bernard de la Monnoye. Arranged by Bradley Sowash. Christmas,Contemporary,Holiday,Jazz. Score and parts. 92 pages. Bradley Sowash #797749. Published by Bradley Sowash (A0.1198671).

Jazz overtones

This medley of lesser-known traditional carols Bye Bye Lully Lullay (aka The Coventry Carol) and Patapan begins contemplatively with a dark jazz waltz that builds in intensity to a big ending. The style is reminiscent of movie scores by Lalo Schifrin and Henry Mancini. Various brass mutes and techniques borrowed from jazz ensembles add unusual orchestral colors. Features a brief timpani/flute duo inspired by the lyrics ā€œWillie, bring your little drum; Robin, bring your fife and come.ā€ Also includes an optional improvised jazz piano solo over minor blues changes that can be easily cut if a capable pianist is not available. (5:57).

SKU: A0.927844

Composed by Johann Strauss Jr. Arranged by Gianmaria Griglio. Romantic Period. Score and parts. 92 pages. Gianmaria Griglio #4988065. Published by Gianmaria Griglio (A0.927844).

The Gypsy Baron (German: Der Zigeunerbaron) is an operetta in three acts by Johann Strauss II which premiered at the Theater an der Wien on 24 October 1885. During the composer's lifetime, the operetta enjoyed great success, second only to the popularity of Die Fledermaus (The bat)

The Ouverture is a very popular piece, often performed during concerts but it normally requires large orchestral forces: hence the present arrangement, which only requires 1 flute, 1 oboe, 1 clarinet, 1 bassoon, 1 horn, 2 percussion players, and strings.

P.S.: if you want to listen to a beautiful performance of this Ouverture check out the Vienna Philharmonic with Carlos Kleiber. It's absolutely brilliant!
