My ukulele has a low G string, and my arrangements are notated using the low G. If your uke has a high G, you can use the exact same fingerings and chords. It will just sound a bit different. Ragtime music, traditionally played primarily on the piano, is a genre which enjoyed popularity in the early 20th century. It is characterised by a syncopated, or ragged rhythm in the melody, played over a steady bassline. Ragtime was preceded by its close relative, the cakewalk ­ – a similarly syncopated dance.

This collection presents five such pieces arranged for ukulele and bass ­ some well-known, and some less so. The ukulele and bass parts are shown on opposite pages of each double­ page spread of this collection, allowing the musicians to play from the same music stand, and for the student to easily cross­-reference the two parts.

This is a three movement sonata for ukulele and guitar I composed in 2015.  The work calls for a conventional uke with the usual tuning. The movements are as follows:
I. Presto Moderato Moving In is a zippy sonata movement
II. Maestoso Jury Duty is a three-voiced fugue with triple counterpoint
III. Menuet and trio Summer in the Park is a menuet and trio, although the trio in this case is an original ragtime strain taken up by the ukulele and then the guitar before the menuet theme returns (which is frequently shifting back and forth between 7/8 and 9/8).

The work is roughly 14 minutes long and a recording of the work was done by Daniel Estrem for Magnatune

In particular, he was an advocate of the light Spanish opera form known as Zarzuela.

Greensleeves for Beginner Ukulele. With Ukulele TAB. Enjoy it!

Greensleeves is a traditional English folk song. A broadside ballad by the name A Newe Northen Dittye of ye Ladye Greene Sleves was registered by Richard Jones at the London Stationer's Company in September 1580, and the tune is found in several late-16th-century and early-17th-century sources, such as Ballet's MS Lute Book and Het Luitboek van Thysius, as well as various manuscripts preserved in the Seeley Historical Library in the University of Cambridge.

Who would have thought you could play classical music on a ukulele? But you can! Here are compositions from the 19th Century – the Romantic Era – transcribed for the Low G ukulele. Julián Arcas (1832-1882) was a Spanish classical guitarist and composer. He was born in Almería and died in Antequera, Spain. Arcas performed all over Europe from 1860 through 1880 where a young Francisco Tárrega listened to him in 1862 in Castellón and played for him after the performance. Arcas then invited Tárrega to study with him in Barcelona. Arcas wrote fifty-two original works and transcribed thirty pieces for the guitar, including waltzes, variations, preludes, and dances. Through the work of the guitar maker Antonio de Torres, Arcas influenced the development of the classical guitar, particularly concerning the design of the soundboard. These pieces are somewhat more complex and are for intermediate to advanced players. Have fun!
