The work attempts to evoke the extraordinary colour of the windows in two statements of a 4-part added-note harmony chorale, which is slightly varied the second time. The conclusion is a series of four further 'mystical' chords, before fading away. The piece is accessible for the listener and can be performed by most pianists, from mid-grade students to professionals.

In it the writer marvels at the depth of God’s love for us, and is humbled by the vastness of our challenge in reciprocating it. We can only stand in awe at the impossibility of our task. Likewise the task of the arranger who tries to capture, in music, a fraction of these feelings. The piece begins very simply and grows more complex, with each statement of the hymn tune more elaborate than the last. Flowing triplets keep the motion going, and the rich harmonic palette is accentuated by several unexpected modulations. The mood is serene, though not always quiet, and often with uncertainty bubbling right under the surface.
