Michel Corrette (1707-1795) was a French composer and an organist. He also played many other instruments, and wrote musical method books for strings, woods, etc. This piece was originally written for two violoncellos. It consists of I. Adagio, II. Allegro, III. Sarabanda, and IV. Tempo di Minuetto. It is a beautiful piece and very enjoyable to play. Some repeated sections were transcribed to non-repeated sections with double bars, in which melody parts are played in rotation.

Josquin des Prez (1450-1521) was a French-Flemish composer who lived during the Renaissance period. His chamber music was influential in the development of modern tonality and musical genres. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest composers of the Renaissance and was among the first to use innovations such as multiple voices and counterpoint. His achievements as a musical magician-mathematician remain stunning even centuries after his death.
