Over the course of her 54-year concert career, she became an internationally renowned virtuoso pianist and was often referred to as the Valkyrie of the Piano. Carreño was an early adopter of the works of one of her students, American composer and pianist Edward MacDowell (1860–1908) and premiered several of his compositions across the globe. She also frequently performed the works of Norwegian composer and pianist Edvard Grieg (1843–1907). Carreño composed approximately 75 works for solo piano, voice and piano, choir and orchestra, and instrumental ensemble. Several composers dedicated their compositions to Carreño, including Amy Beach (Piano Concerto in C-sharp minor) and Edward MacDowell (Piano Concerto No. 2). The text is based on Psalm 24 and is equally suitable for use during the Advent season or on Palm Sunday when nearly all children's choirs participate in the worship service. Further, it is written so that all ages of choirs could participate. The hymn tune is punctuated by the powerful dialogue from the Psalm: 'Who is the King of Glory' The Lord of hosts, He is the King of Glory!' This ties very well the Psalm ideas to Weissel's paraphrase, and then the closing stanza concludes with a personal response EUR to open the portals of one's heart. Another feature of the anthem s that the entire congregation can join in the singing at the appropriate places by either singing directly from the hymnal or by printing the words in a bulletin (permission is granted). The work can, of course, be used as an anthem, or as an elaborated congregational hymn in addition to another 'anthem' for the day.

An SATB + solo contemporary a cappella arrangement of Drag Me Down by One Direction.  Recorded in 2015 for their fifth album, Made in the A.M., Drag Me Down was One Direction's first single since Zayn Malik left the group in March of the same year.  It topped the charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Austria, and New Zealand, and it won the fan-voted Best Video Award at the 2016 Brit Awards.This arrangement retains the energy and intensity of the original song while adding a dash of supportive harmony to give it that contemporary a cappella flavor.  The main melody fits comfortably in most tenor ranges but also could be performed easily by treble voices with minimal adjustment during the pre-chorus/chorus.  Vocal percussion is encouraged, and this tune would be perfect for someone who might be learning beatboxing for the first time.  Easy enough to learn over the course of a few rehearsals but still challenging enough to keep it engaging, this piece would be great as an opener or closer in your high school or college ensemble's repertoire.  Soprano range: Bb4-E5Alto range: G3-C5Tenor range: C3-G4Bass range: F2-C4.

The four sonatas in this volume are a tantalising introduction to Artaria Editions' forthcoming publication of the complete keyboard sonatas of Domenico Cimarosa. (Sonata R20, R30, R25 and R27) The present edition attempts to present as accurately as possible the composer's intentions as transmitted in the Florentine MS with the exception of the grouping of the works into multi-movement cycles. Cimarosa's scant markings have been preserved throughout and, on occasion, applied to parallel passages. As in the original, the editor has placed the onus of responsibility for interpretation back on the performer although he has made occasional tempo suggestions where they are missing from the source. Obvious wrong notes have been corrected without comment; editorial emendations with no authority from the source are placed within brackets. Nick Rossi Sadly Nick Rossi died before this edition went to press. In the course of its preparation we discussed many issues relating to the genesis of the sonatas and the risk the editor takes in presenting the works to the public with so little help in the matter of interpretation. Twenty-six Preludeswas composed for Holly Roadfeldt between September 2013 and April 2014. Unlike the famous preludes by composers like Bach, Chopin, and Debussy, mine are not organized by key. Instead, they are organized by threads: compositional ideas that are developed over the course of the entire set. Composing the set in this manner allowed me to develop several ideas concurrently with the idea that they would in some way merge together by the end of the set, giving the several disparate ideas a real reason to exist together in the same set. In addition, because I was not using key as a resource, I was not constrained by the number 24. The end result is a cycle of preludes that is in some ways more closely related to a Schubertian song cycle than to the Preludes of Chopin, Bach, or Debussy. That is not to say that there is not a close conceptual connection with the Preludes of those masters (there are subtle references to each of those composers in the score), but my intention was to treat the Preludes in a cyclical fashion rather than, as is the case with Bach and Chopin, an exploration of the nuances of the 24 keys. The preludes were not composed in the order that they are presented. Some of them came in quick bunches: two or three in a day; others took longer. In addition to developing the compositional threads, I was interested in creating a wide range of moods that also held together as a set. Dante Alighieri (1265-1321) is of course a major Italian poet.  But the story of his youthful infatuation with Beatrice caught my eyes.  I got his book La Vita Nuova in a dual language edition published by Dover and proceeded to look for the right set of poems for my setting.
