Count Your Blessings is a cheerful hymn and I've created multiple oblilgatos for it.  This arrangement is especially good for the new flutist since two of the verses are mostly in the middle register and you don't have to change notes as rapidly.  Of course, there are some verses that more experienced player would like too!   I find myself humming the notes and articulation of the classical time period verse and it cheers me up.

One of my ensembles requested a new adaptation of the traditional regional Dalecarlian version of Bereden vag for Herran (Prepare the Way). Since I personally find the arrangement by Anders Bond very beautiful indeed, it seemed pointless. But my resistance was worn down in time and I composed this arrangement without lyrics and inserted the more traditional Bond variant. It is possible of course to replace this with a unison presentation of the chorale or to have the audience/congregation join in. If you prefer to sing the arrangement as it is, you should go directly from bar 25 to bar 31. It was written with a youth ensemble in mind, so the second violin and cello parts are simpler than the first violin and viola parts. Although this may help, it should prove enjoyable for any string orchestra to perform, with either a guest solo cellist or cello leader playing the solo. Score and parts included.
