Score: 15 pages.  Antonio Vivaldi was an Italian composer and violinist in the Baroque period, who is widely considered to be one of the greatest composers of all time. He was a major influence on many other composers of the Baroque era, and his influence can still be felt in music today.Vivaldi's most important contribution to music history was his development of the sonata da chiesa, or church sonata. This form of composition was a variation on the Baroque sonata, and was used primarily in sacred music. It was characterized by a more lyrical approach to composition, with a focus on melody and harmonic structure. Vivaldi was one of the first composers to make use of this form, and his works set the standard for future composers. His church sonatas were written in a wide variety of keys and styles, and their influence can be heard in the works of later composers, such as J.S. Bach and Handel.Vivaldi's influence on music history is far-reaching, and his contributions to the development of the sonata da chiesa are among his most important. His compositions are still widely performed and appreciated today, and his legacy continues to shape the music of the modern era.

Piano,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1238659 Composed by Franz von Vecsey. Arranged by Paul Wood. Romantic Period. 7 pages. MyMusicScores.com #834097. Published by MyMusicScores.com (A0.1238659). Programme NotesBorn in Budapest, Franz de Vecsey showed an extraordinary talent for the violin from a young age. His musical journey began under the guidance of his father, Lajos Vecsey, but it was his subsequent studies with renowned violinist Jenő Hubay that truly shaped his virtuosity. At the tender age of 10, he impressed none other than Joseph Joachim with his exceptional skills, solidifying his status as a child prodigy. However, in the 1930s, tragedy struck. Just as Vecsey was poised to fulfill his dreams, he fell gravely ill with a pulmonary embolism, a condition that plagued him throughout his life. Seeking medical treatment, he traveled to Rome, where he underwent surgery in the hope of a recovery. Unfortunately, the operation proved unsuccessful, and at the tragically young age of 42, Franz de Vecsey succumbed to his illness. His piece, Valse Triste in C minor, composed in 1913 and dedicated to Princesse Elena Lante della Rovere, serves as a poignant reminder of Vecsey's musical genius. Through its haunting melodies and evocative harmonies, the composition encapsulates the depth of his emotions and the profound beauty of his art. Though his life was cut tragically short, Franz de Vecsey's legacy lives on.

Piano,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1446374 By Friedrich Fritz Kreisler (February 2, 1875 – January 29, 1962). By Friedrich Fritz Kreisler. Arranged by Keith Terrett. Classical,Contest,Festival,Historic,Instructional,Romantic Period. 12 pages. Keith Terrett #1026182. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1446374). Alt-Wiener Tanzweisen (Old Viennese Melodies in German) is a set of three short pieces for violin and piano composed by Austrian-American violinist Fritz Kreisler. The three pieces are titled Liebesfreud (Love's Joy), Liebesleid (Love's Sorrow), and Schön Rosmarin (Lovely Rosemary). It is not known when the pieces are written, but they were published in 1905, deliberately misattributed to Joseph Lanner.[citation needed] The pieces had become parts of Kreisler's repertoire well before September 1910, when he copyrighted them under his own name.Kreisler often played these pieces as encores at his concerts, though the pieces are usually performed separately. In 1911, he published solo piano arrangements of the pieces as Alt-Wiener Tanzweisen. The pieces have since appeared in numerous settings for other instruments, or orchestrated. Two of the pieces, Liebesfreud and Liebesleid, were the subject of virtuoso transcriptions for solo piano by Kreisler's friend Sergei Rachmaninoff (1931), who also recorded these transcriptions.
