Cantata in ten movements, for TTBB chorus, chamber orchestra, and soloists, written in memory of the victims of the COVID-19 pandemic. Premiered by the Empire City Men's Chorus in March 2023 in New York, released on Navona Records in December 2023, this work was recently named a finalist for the 2024 American Prize. Gramophone called it poignant and powerful and said that Weininger skilfully weaves together texts from the Tanakh, eloquently sung in Hebrew by the chorus and presented in Robert Alter’s powerful English translations by the three soloists. The cantata unfolds as a tapestry of colours and profound mourning, with occasional echoes of an ancient musical language, wherein the orchestra plays a virtuosic role. This is the full conductor score; a choral reduction is available separately, and orchestra parts are available from the composer on request.
