Individual part. 3 pages. Songbooks.info #915751. Published by songbooks.info (A0.1327707). White Christmas was written in 1940 by US composer Irving Berlin (1888-1989). In 1942 the song was recorded for the film Holiday Inn. Bing Crosby's version, published in 1947, has sold an estimated 50 million copies, making it the best-selling single worldwide. The song was adapted for the Soprano or Tenor Recorder and provided with fingering images. These images are briefly explained in the appendix. The classic musical notation and/or the lyrics help to develop the song, so that even those unfamiliar with music notes can learn to play the song with this arrangement. The sound of a piano was used in the setting, so the sound does not mix with the sound of your own instrument. The melody is backed by a metronome and quietly by an organ. We hope you enjoy making music...!White Christmas wurde 1940 vom US-Komponisten Irving Berlin (1888-1989) geschrieben.

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.527600 Composed by J. Fucik. Arranged by Diego Marani. 20th Century,Classical,Concert,Instructional,Standards. Score and parts. 17 pages. Diego Marani #3003951. Published by Diego Marani (A0.527600). Entrance of the Gladiators op. 68 or Entry of the Gladiators is a military march composed in 1897 by the Czech composer Julius Fucík. He originally titled it Grande Marche Chromatique, reflecting the use of chromatic scales throughout the piece, but changed the title based on his personal interest in the Roman Empire. In 1901, American publisher Carl Fischer published a version of this march, arranged for American wind bands by Canadian composer Louis-Philippe Laurendeau, under the title Thunder and Blazes. It was during this period that the song gained lasting popularity as a screamer march for circuses, often used to introduce clowns. Today it is known mainly by this association, even though the title and composer are relatively obscure. The march receives the occasional concert hall performance, such as at the 2007 Last Night of the Proms. This arrangement for brass quartet includes the following parts: Bb Trumpet 1, Bb Trumpet 2, Trombone or F Horn, Tuba.

Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.955738 By Sarah Vaughan. By Clyde Otis and Murray Stein. Arranged by Phil Thrift. Jazz. Score and Parts. 48 pages. Phil Thrift #6062351. Published by Phil Thrift (A0.955738). When my friend Werner told me to listen to Smooth Operator, I thought he meant the well-known mid-80s smooth jazz number by the British band Sade. Instead, I got a surprise. This Smooth Operator was totally different, totally unknown to me, and provoked me to find out about Dorothy Dandridge and her life. I encourage you to do so too.The album Smooth Operator was released in 1999. However, Dorothy Dandridge had recorded this song nearly 40 years earlier, in February 1961, with – according to the sleeve notes from Verve Records – an unknown orchestra and unknown producer. The arranger of the band charts is also not credited. It seems there was just one take, because when Ms. Dandridge enters at the pickup to measure 5, it takes the rhythm section a few beats to fall into line with her; one trumpet also enters too early in measure 74! Notwithstanding, this is an amazing, very cool number, and if your female vocalist feels up to the challenge of these cheeky, risqué lyrics, then these easy charts will enable your big band to recreate the piece.Although the style is dated and recalls a bygone era, I feel this song is a good way to remember this brilliant actress, singer, and dancer who died so young, and draw attention to the injustices she suffered and which are still with us today. The tagline to the film of her life starring Halle Berry sums up her life: Right woman. Right place. Wrong time.
