Cloud Nine is a stand-alone piece for flute and piano. It's written in concert G minor/B flat major which modulates to C major. The top note for the flute is the D above the staff and this occurs only once. The lowest note is the D just below the staff which occurs several times. The piece is not difficult (around UK Associated Board Grade 3-4) and the piano part is quite accessible. It's a slow, dreamy piece which is ideal for the intermediate flute player. It would make a good recital piece or could be effective as a relaxing encore.
