Small Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.959050 By Dawn Featuring Tony Orlando. By Irwin Levine and L. Russell Brown. Arranged by Mike Spiller. Contemporary. Score and parts. 9 pages. Platypus Music #4883337. Published by Platypus Music (A0.959050). The song was written by Irwin Levine and L. Russell Brown. It was recorded by 'Dawn' and became a wordwide hit in 1973. In 2008 it was ranked the 37th biggest song of all time. The arrangement is for string quintet/orchestra and is an intermediate level arrangement due to the syncopated rhythms and some 4th position playing for the cellist. Also, double stop chords. Violin 1, viola and cello all get to play the tune. The pizzicato double bass part creates a lilting jazz feel.
