A wonderful, sweet old hymn classic arranged for string quartet or string ensemble at an easy grade 2 level.  The melody is introduced as a fiddle tune and everyone joins in for a big finale! Everyone one gets to play the melody! Arranged for my own beginning string orchestra students. Lots of lush harmonies underscore the chorus. The fiddle melody came into my head literally during my recovery after hip replacement surgery and I could barely wait to get to my studio to write it down and only after doing so did I realize that it was the verse of this hymn! Also in researching the history behind this hymn, I learned that it was composed by Mr. Webster on his violin!

2-Part Invention No. 6 in E major by J.S. BACH, BWV 777 for Solo Piano. This is the original version of the beloved 15 2-Part Inventions by Johann Sebastian Bach. The Inventions is a collection of short pieces Bach wrote for the musical education of his young pupils. These are among the finest examples of artistic gems ever written for this purpose, and probably because of this, they became very popular among Bach's pupils and others ever since they were written.

The work comprises fifteen two-part, each named 'inventio', and fifteen three-part pieces, named 'sinfonia'. These two groups of pieces are arranged in an identical fashion-in ascending order by key-so that there is little doubt that Bach's intention was to bring them together as a single work. This is also confirmed by the way they are carefully written in his autograph fair copy penned in 1723. On every facing page of an open volume each piece demonstrates the contrapuntal technique, while, at the same time, explores a wide range of musical expressions using various styles and developing the motives in a logical fashion.

Clarke wrote Cousins, a cornet and trombone duet with band accompaniment in 1904 for himself as the cornet soloist and Leo Zimmerman as the trombone soloist.

To create a clean new edition, dynamics and articulations were made more consistent in the parts. Other items were changed to reflect the bands of today including F Horn parts rather than Eb and the percussion parts have been reorganized.
