Recorded in 1977 at ATV Elstree Studios near London for Crosby's TV Special Merrie Olde Christmas, The song features Bing Crosby singing the old 1941 standard 'Little Drummer Boy', whilst Bowie sing's 'Peace on Earth' as a counterpoint melody, written by the special's musical supervisors Ian Fraser, Lawrence Grossman & scriptwriter Alan Buz Kohan, specially for the collaboration.
