Most decisions are based on their current skills and abilities, or where I would like for them to be when they complete the piece. This arrangement was made for an early intermediate student working in Level 2 of the Keith Snell Books. She is in the NFMC Class of Elementary III. This was strangely not very tough for her at all. The tied notes can be tricky, but they are worth the effort. Have fun with this piece, especially with dynamics and pedal. It's a great opportunity to explore different pedaling rhythms. The jumping 3rds in measures 35 and 39 may be omitted if troublesome. Pedal and fingering suggestions are included.

I make piano solo arrangements for my students of songs that they love! My goal is to create something that sounds beautiful as a standalone piece of music and, most importantly, that it also makes pianistic sense. Each of my arrangements is made for a specific student, so the results will vary in terms of playing level. Most decisions are based on their current skills and abilities, or where I would like for them to be when they complete the piece.

This arrangement was made for a late beginner studying in Level 1 of the Keith Snell books, Federation class Primary 4. This is not as easy as it looks, especially with the lilting sixteenths. I had my student play these evenly instead and it still sounded incredible. Try to bring out the emphasized notes in the bass clef.

Pedaling is straightforward and fingering suggestions are included.

Piano left hand arrangement of the gorgeous Irish folk song (aka Danny Boy), created for concert pianist Keith Porter-Snell. This is the kind of arrangement that gets that lovely wistful “aahhh� response from an audience. It has been known to steal the show.

This is advanced piano playing — your left hand will need to be flexible and very lyrical to play this arrangement. The results are more than worth the time and care you will put into learning Londonderry Air. If you want lyrical music that is both familiar (in melody) and unusual (in arrangement), that will both charm and intrigue your audience, this is the piece!

(Adding your right hand will make the music very slightly easier, but it can be done. Note that the score gives no indication of how to divide the notes between the hands, though; it is a score for left hand alone.).

This arrangement was made for a late beginner student who has almost completed Alfred's Masterwork Classics Level 1/2. She has also been working in the Prep Level of the Keith Snell books. Primary IV Class. I wanted to see what would happen if she had to do a left hand accompaniment with less (than usual) blocked or broken chords. To compromise, I gave it a lullaby feel, which worked amazingly well in a recital setting! The main theme recap was especially difficult for her, but she persevered and got it down. It's a beautiful and sweet rendition. Pedal and fingering suggestions are included.

Although this arrangement was a little more challenging, she absolutely nailed it. I kept repeating patterns whenever changes occurred. I also threw in a C major scale at the end in the LH. The RH will have to move out of the way. It's a beautiful and sweet rendition of a great standard. Pedal and fingering suggestions are included.
