Der gebürtige Neuseeländer Arnold Trowell (1887–1966) kam für seine Ausbildung nach Europa, wo er bis zu seinem Tod als Komponist, Musiker und Pädagoge tätig war. Er schrieb seine Werke vornehmlich für Streicher und Klavier. Heute noch verbreitet sind vor allem seine pädagogisch motivierten Kompositionen, wie die Etüdensammlung Technology of Violoncello, 6 Morceaux op. 20, sowie die 12 morceaux faciles pour violoncelle op. 4. Die Herausgeberin Beverley Ellis hat für diese Ausgabe die ersten sechs Sätze aus opus 4 ausgewählt und sie mit spieltechnischen Hinweisen und Anregungen für die Erarbeitung und Interpretation der Stücke ergänzt. Eine wunderbare Bereicherung des Repertoires im Anfängerbereich! About Schott Student Edition
The Schott Student Edition gathers instrumental works for music lessons providing a unique and varied repertoire resource including standard teaching works, lesser known pieces which are perfectly suited to lessons as well as to student concerts and competitions.
The repertoire is divided into levels 1-5, from very easy to difficult, and includes works from the Renaissance up to modern performance pieces.
