David Rose originally wrote “The Stripper� in 1958 as a snippet in a television program called Burlesque. One story has it that he later recorded “The Stripper� during an orchestra session where the brass section was not getting to play very much. He encouraged them to “clown around with it�. After recording Ebb Tide for the A side of 45 rpm record in 1962, a last minute search for the B side led to “The Stripper� being selected.
