Choral Choir,Choral,SAB Chorus - Level 2 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1435064

Composed by Clyde Moreland. Arranged by Jon Arterton. Historic,Holiday,Multicultural,Patriotic,World. 9 pages. Moreland Publishing Company #1015165. Published by Moreland Publishing Company (A0.1435064).

This wonderfully patriotic song about the Statue of Liberty will have your audiences on their feet. It embraces the contributions immigrants have made to this country. It’s perfect for Americana/Fourth of July-themed concerts. It features a major solo. The lyrics tell the story.

SOLO: Set sail across these waters over a wide and open sea
With my wife and my son and daughters to this land of Opportunity
Disembarking at Ellis Island feelings of pride came over me
As the veil of the mist that shrouded her lifted up I could clearly see
Standing tall she lifted my heart, revealing all I’d come to be
She holds the light for my rights, for my life, for my child, for my land

CHORUS: She stands for me. Lady Liberty lifted me up. She stands for me

SOLO: Two hundred years we now flash forward at the dawn of this brave new world
As I stand with my eyes gazing upward she still stands with the light in her hand
It still shines as bright as it can be for those still longing to breathe free
Though by the waves we are tossed as we weather the storms she still shows us who we can be
Standing tall she lifted my heart, showing all we’d come to be
Stands for the lonely and lost and those tempest tossed she still stands

CHORUS: She stands for me. Lady Liberty lifted me up. She stands for me

VARIOUS SOLOS: I am the farmer standing by my plow
The small business owner makes a go of it now
I am the dreamer through no fault of mine
But still wanting a life and a future that’s bright/ We are the couple blessed by eyes above
But stripped of our rights because of who we love
We are the tired, the oppressed and the poor
The huddled masses at the golden door

CHORUS: We are a people of all colors and creeds
Together we’re strong in our diversity
Lady Liberty lifted me up. She stands for me.

Composed by Kevin G. Pace (ASCAP), Kathryn W. Hales. Christian,Folk,Pop,Religious,Spiritual. Score. 6 pages. Kevin G. Pace #774051. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1173897).

A beautiful song about coming to the Savior with music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Kathryn W. Hales.

Text:
I went in the Gold Rush like many a man,
To search for some nuggets or a flash in the pan.
But few were the findings from a grand mother lode,
I went for the Gold Rush, but I didn’t find gold.

I found what was there, growing right from the ground,
The flora and fauna, with trees that abound.
I found the beauty of nature’s own place,
I found the beauty shown by God’s grace.

Like those in the Gold Rush, I’ve oft followed man,
To search for the shiny, a flash in the pan,
But the glamour soon ended when the glitzy wore thin,
I went for the sparkly but found grace for my sins.

The world cannot offer the true value of souls,
For they are more precious than nuggets of gold.
I found true wealth, not deep in a mine,
But in the pierced hands of a Savior divine.

I might lose my way, when guided by man,
So, look to the heavens and follow God’s plan.
The glitter of Fool’s Gold has many deceived__
A glimmer of hope, then deep tears of grief.

I’ll look for the riches only He can bestow,
I’ll avoid that ol’ Gold Rush but seek for true gold.
By seeking a life, eternal and pure,
Seeking for Jesus, who gives gold that endures.

The Gold Rush, vocal solo
Piano, Voix
seeking a life, eternal and pure,
Seeking for Jesus, who gives gold that endures

By Caetano Velosa. By Edward Eiscu, Gus Kahn, and Vincent Youmens. Arranged by Peet du Toit. Folk,Pop. 9 pages. Peet du Toit #992996. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.1410576).

(The) Carioca is a 1933 popular song with music by Vincent Youmans and lyrics by Edward Eliscu and Gus Kahn, as well as the name of the dance choreographed to it for the 1933 film Flying Down to Rio. It was sung in the film by Alice Gentle, Movita Castaneda and Etta Moten and danced by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers as part of an extended production dance number illustrating the ballroom dance. The dance, which was choreographed by the film's dance director, Dave Gould, assisted by Hermes Pan, was based on an earlier stage dance with the same name by Fanchon and Marco.

The word Carioca refers to inhabitants of Rio de Janeiro.

Astaire and Roger's short dance has historical significance, as it was their first screen dance together. Though billed fourth and fifth, many felt they stole the film, which became a big hit for RKO. The song was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 7th Academy Awards, but lost to an even bigger Astaire and Rogers production number, The Continental from The Gay Divorcee (1934), their next film together and their first starring vehicle. They were billed by RKO as The King and Queen of 'The Carioca.'

While the song has become a jazz standard, the dance did not have longevity. Following the success of Flying Down to Rio, an attempt was made to propagate it as a new ballroom dance, without much success. It was a mixture of samba, maxixe, foxtrot and rhumba. The distinctive feature of the dance â?? at least as portrayed in the movie â?? was that it was to be danced with the partners' foreheads touching.

A French cover of the song was introduced in the comedy movie La Cité de la Peur (1994) along with a dance, also meant in a humoristic way. Both the song and the dance appear in the film that takes place in Cannes during the Cannes film festival in France, and have become a reference for a whole generation in France. 25 years later, in May 2019, the Carioca scene of the movie was celebrated in Cannes with a flashmob dance and by the actors themselves who danced again the mythic scene included in La Cité de la Peur.

Composed by Jasmine LAI. Concert,Contemporary. Score. 7 pages. Jasmine LAI #6565277. Published by Jasmine LAI (A0.933947).

This is my first time I have written a piece that doesnot have a standard structure. It is also the first time that I have expressed my feelings about Australia through music, inspired by Lawson’s moving poem.

The reason why I name my piece ‘Consciousness2.0’ is because it depicts a picture of how people rise and fall in life. An example of this is what happened during the Australian bushfires, which was a time when people were very aware of what was happening.

Consciousness means to be aware and responsive to the surroundings, and it can also mean a person’s perspective of events.

My piece begins with a soft introduction, which describes the life of Australia and its unique environment. From the bustling cities to the open country, there is always some life around Australia. Sometimes there is also some wild weather, which is represented in the arpeggiated left hand (bars 10-14).

The story then shifts its focus to the animals, through short 2-part phrase in bars 23-26. The animals areenjoying their time in nature. The phrase is in Aeolian mode, so there is a bit of mystery instead of having an obvious key. Then, the parallel fifths depict the openness and vastness of the land.

The transition is shown in bars 32-34 by a smooth 4-part phrase going downwards.

The next fast section (bars 35-47) describes the rise of panic, just like a howling heat of the bushfire. The chromatic 7th chords (bars 36,38) make a sense of tension, and after 3 times, the chromaticism makes its way to a recent memory of the rushing semiquavers (bars 43-44) After the bushfires came closer, animals panicked as they rushed and left their precious homes. It was devastating to see how many people were affected, with houses destroyed, people and animals burning into the ashes (bars 48-54).

Then there is another new section (bars 55-68) which describes the uncertainty, for example, the right-handquavers describe a flashback of nature planning itself to create a bushfire, or the times when people were planning a solution to this incident.

The uncertainty was unfolded when the fast right hand semiquavers come back, (bars 69-82) creating a whoosh of destruction disappointment and adjustment.

The last part is the ending of story (bars 84 to end). Though the fire has made a lot of destruction, with Aussie spirit, there is always hope that everyone can rebuild a new and better community in the future

By Stacey Plays Hymns. By Stacey Plays Hymns. Arranged by Anastace. Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. Accompaniment. Duration 235. Anastace #1054996. Published by Anastace (A0.1477616).

As of this publishing, over 140,000 people have found my one video collection of funeral hymns on YouTube, not including separate postings of each individual song. Because of this it's been on my mind for a long time to write a funeral song, but it was somehow just never the right time until just a few weeks ago when this one came pouring out in 5 minutes flat [which does not happen often, I can assure you!]. The culmination of years of playing for funerals, a bachelor degree in theology and sacred music, and many more years of writing and playing music through good times and also times full of grief, Lord of All Our Days is my very best and heartfelt attempt to serve those who are also dealing with the absolute heartache of loss, be it the acute, fresh grieving of just losing someone or the flashbacks that come time and time again, years and even decades later.

This song carefully and tenderly handles the true earth-shaking grief that it is to lose someone you love, while holding out a strong hope of the life to come for those who trust God. I had a very difficult time recording it without being moved to tears over and over, and I pray it will reach many in need of comfort, being of service to anyone who is looking for a Christian, Biblical funeral hymn for a memorial service or a celebration of life service.

Also available, by searching Stacey Plays Hymns and the song title on this site, is an accompaniment track with only piano (instead of this one with the full choral backup vocals) as well as the following sheet music options:

Piano Vocal in Bb Minor to match the original recording [vocal range: Bb3-Bb4]
Piano Vocal in C Major for easier playing and a better congregational vocal range
Lead Sheet for piano or guitar in C Major - best key for singing without a capo
Lead Sheet in G minor for piano or guitar [play capo 3 or more to match the original key]

For other formats including large print, a different key to match a soloist's preferred range, or piano solo for a matching prelude or postlude, please write me at staceyplayshymns@gmail.com and I'll be glad to make them especially for you. Purchase includes a free license for one funeral or memorial service with under 1000 people, with proper attribution and credit in all printed or online materials. For a license to use this work on a larger scale, please contact me for permission and other usage details including lyrics formatted for printing in church bulletins or for powerpoint. Please let me know if there is any other way I can serve you as a congregation or fellow music/choir director as I endeavour to write several new choral anthems per year, along with my other recording work.

Thank you for supporting modern hymnwriters and musicians!

By Howard Goodall. By Howard Goodall. Arranged by Warren J. Wernick. Contemporary. Score and parts. 7 pages. Warren J Wernick #5713803. Published by Warren J Wernick (A0.948762).

Blackadder is a series of four BBC One pseudohistorical British sitcoms, plus several one-off installments, which originally aired from 1983–1989. All television episodes starred Rowan Atkinson as the antihero Edmund Blackadder and Tony Robinson as Blackadder's dogsbody, Baldrick. Each series was set in a different historical period, with the two protagonists accompanied by different characters, though several reappear in one series or another, e.g., Melchett (Stephen Fry) and Lord Flashheart (Rik Mayall). The theme song is composed by Howard Goodall, an English composer of musicals, choral music and music for television. He also presents music-based programs for television and radio, for which he has won many awards. In May 2008, he was named as a presenter and Composer-in-Residence with the UK radio channel Classic FM. In May 2009, he was named Composer of the Year at the Classic BRIT Awards. Goodall said of the Theme, They asked me if I would have a go at the tune. With all of these things, although I do come up with my own ideas, you don't really come up with a good one unless you talk it through with them and the vision they've got. It was quite obvious, the historical approach they were going for. What's interesting is that the first series, the medieval one with 'Richard the Fourth', was much more filmic and much more historical. That's why we ended up with that tune. Whereas had the first series been the Elizabethan one, the theme would have been slightly gentler, less heroic. .

Composed by Traditional/Anonymous. Arranged by Socrates Arvanitakis. Classical,Early Music,Folk,Traditional. Individual part. 38 pages. Socrates Arvanitakis #753060. Published by Socrates Arvanitakis (A0.1152821).

This is the twelfth volume of an extensive collection of folk songs arranged for the classical guitar mostly in two-part counterpoint. The arrangements are of moderate difficulty and the aims of this publication are to familiarise, entertain and educate guitarists (and other musicians) with a melodic repertoire of lasting aesthetic value, under the light of contrapuntal treatment. The thirty five volumes of this collection can certainly be printed on paper if so desired and there are a few pages in each volume, either blank or with photographs of various musicians, which can be inserted at will in any place for the correct ordering of left and right hand pages so that page turns can be avoided. The principle of avoiding page turns has been maintained in all volumes, but this edition is also designed with mobile electronic devices in mind such as tablets etc, using the environment and facilities of a score reading application, towards a paperless world, at least in music. Therefore the size of the staves is bigger than usual for ease of reading on a small screen but not big enough to exceed the limit of a two-page view. Active internal links for navigating from thematic indexes to particular songs and back to indexes have been added, and also external internet links to sites that give further information for the 945 songs of this first collection for classical guitar.
