On The Sunny Side of the Street is a favourite jazz standard written by Jimmy McHugh with lyrics by Dorothy Fields. Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie and Count Basie were a few of the artists who had his with this song. This version is in C major (concert pitch) as is Louis Armstrong's version. This Flexi-Brass version can also be used as a Trumpet Quartet using just the Trumpet parts of the arrangement. Cornets or Flugelhorn can use those parts too. Parts for E flat Horn, French Horn. Euphonium, Trombone and Tuba in Treble Clef and Trombone and Tuba in Bass Clef. Standard of players need to be Grade 5 and above.

On the Sunny Side of the Street is a Great American Jazz Standard from 1930. It was composed by Jimmy McHugh with lyrics by Dorothy Fields. Some authors say that Fats Waller was the composer, but he sold the rights to the song. This jazz string arrangement presents the original tune and is followed by an improvisation section for violin solo with rhythm section accompaniment. A suggested solo is included. While most parts remain in first position, some optional octaves are presented in the Violin 1 part. A Violin 3 part is included that double the Viola.

Don't Blame Me is a popular Great American Standard used by pop and jazz musicians alike with music by Jimmy McHugh and lyrics by Dorothy Fields. The song was part of the 1932 show Clowns in Clover and was published in 1933. It would be an interesting teaching lesson if directors asked students to compare and contrast any traditional version with the more current Taylor Swift song with the same title. This arrangement will require students to switch back and forth between a straight eight-note Latin feel and the traditional jazz swing feel . There are 32 bars reserved for open improvisation but a written-out jazz violin suggested solo is provided. A Vioin 3 Substitute for Viola part is included to strengthen the Viola section.

This song, long a part of the Great American Songbook, was composed by McHugh and Fields in 1930 and has since become a jazz standard. Recorded numerous times by everybody from Louis Armstrong to Dave Brubeck, it was a big hit for Tommy Dorsey in 1945. This arrangement was inspired by the 1957 Dizzy Gillispie version from his album Sonny Side Up, featuring tenor giants Sonny Rollins and Sonny Stitt.

Instrumentation is the standard big band: five saxes (a,a,t,t,b), five trumpets, four trombones, guitar, piano, bass & drums.

The first tenor has a 32 bar ad lib solo on the second chorus.

Brass parts are pretty high, particularly in the last 16 bars, where the first trumpet stays above the staff, going up to a high F#.

Love Me As Though There Were No Tomorrow is a Nat King Cole ballad released on the 1956 vinyl album Nat King Cole Sings Songs From Strip For Action. The song was written by Jimmy McHugh and Harold Adamson for the short-lived 1956 musical of the same title. The song gained a new following in 2010 after it was broadcast on Radio New Vegas in the game Fallout: New Vegas, published by Bethesda Softworks. 

This version is a piano solo transcription/arrangement of the ballad. The sheet music includes chords and lyrics.
