Ray was a pseudonym used by English composer John Neat. This song was very popular among the soldiers during the First World War as a ballad to their sweethearts. Since then, it has had many famous covers. In 1941, Frank Sinatra and Tommy Dorsey recorded this song in a jazz idiom and it remained popular for the remainder of World War II. Later, in 1980, Michael Berry did a cover where it reached the top 10 in the UK Singles Chart. Great for recitals, concerts (love-themed), weddings, and other special occasions.
