The composition Thanksgiving began as an improv on Thanksgiving Day 2019. That improv was uploaded to Facebook. After listening to it, I decided to rework it and add more to it. One of the things that I really like about it is that it is in 7/4 time, but it feels totally natural and organic. I also like that it exudes gratitude, at least to me. I hope that you will feel gratitude and have a sense of Thanksgiving when you hear it.

Rocking Chair is very relaxing and positive. I tried to capture the feeling that one gets when in a rocking chair. I love this song but this song is most definitely an earworm. When I completed this composition and played it a few times, it got into my head and heart and would not let go. It followed me for days and every time I hear it, it goes on repeat in my head. The only way for me to make it stop is to play or listen to another song.

When I compose a piece of music, I try to go as deep as I can into the feeling or thought that inspired the music. When I do that, sometimes I lose myself completely. I am able to float up outside of my body. That's what happened with this piece. I was space traveling!

I've been feeling like I'm watching the fall of Rome in real time here in the United States. This country, that I live in and that I love, is coming apart politically, socially and environmentally. This song is a prayer for us to find our way out of the present situation and create a beautiful democracy that works for all people so that we can live healthy, happy lives.
