The Frog Prince children's musical is a version for young actors of the famous Grimm's fairy tale retold in script and songs by Betsy Lee Bailey. The setting is northern France during the Renaissance.  The Monarchs of two neighboring kingdoms are having problems with their children.  The self-centered young Princess and the headstrong little Prince want things their own ways without considering how it affects their families. Kings and Queens, Heralds, Knights, Lords and Ladies, a Prince, Princesses, a Frog, and even a Dragon fill this show with many opportunities for your cast to shine. Some of the magic is done using hand puppets, stick ponies, coconut clip-clops, and ancient instruments.  This show includes parts for many princesses not just one, NO LOVE STORY, and fun comedic parts for a lot of knights.  The over-arching moral value is KEEPING PROMISES.  Enjoyed by audiences of any ages.  With 5 original songs, several dances, and incidental pieces, this score is accessible for young actors.  Accompaniment MP3's are available on SMP and SMD.  See BaileyKidsMusicals.com for details.

The PRINCE & the FIREBIRD: Baritone, with String Quartet, optional Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn, Double Bass.  My version of the Slavic fairy tale which exists in many forms. Ogor, an immortal, evil Czar-wizard, stole children, pretended they were his princes and princesses but controlled and punished them with spells. He sent our hero Prince Ivan to capture the firebird which had been pecking at the Castle's golden apples. He faced many challenges, but he was helped by a wolf who turns out to be Princess Lenka under a spell. When the firebird was captured, it made a deal with Ivan and with its magic helped him deal with the Czar. Ivan, Lenka and the Kingdom are happy ever after.

I attempted to create an exotic sound-world by using throughout the Hungarian Gypsy scale.

Philippe de Vitry, a French composer-poet, bishop, and music theorist, is known for his significant contributions to late medieval music. As a bishop, Vitry's accomplishments were primarily in the musical and literary domains. Various articles in specialized journals and sites have cited the composer, such as the Flutist Quarterly (Circus Brasilis - The flute music of Sergio Roberto de Oliveira), Early Music America (Something New for Early Music), Andante.com (The heirs of Villa-Lobos), 21st Century Music, Musicabrasileira.org, etc. Sergio Roberto de Oliveira has frequently been invited to lecture at American universities, and has spoken at more than a dozen institutions including Princeton and Duke. In 2009 he was Artist-in-Residence at Duke University. In addition the USA and the UK, Oliveira's music has also been played in many countries, with invitations for concerts exclusively with his music in México, Italy and Holland (Amsterdam).  The Spanish Magazine Sonograma has published 2 interviews with Sergio.

Sergio is the founder and a member of the group of composers Prelúdio 21. The group is one of the most active worldwide. It holds a distinguished place in Brazilian contemporary music, having been active for 15 consecutive seasons, with a permanent series of monthly concerts since 2008. In 2011 the group released the CD String Quartets, with performances by the Quarteto Radamés Gnattali. Oliveira is also a member of the group of composers Vox Novus, based in New York.

To commemorate 15 years of activity as a composer, Oliveira released a box set with 4 CDs, as well as a CD with composer Mark Hagerty, and produced the series QUINZE, with 13 concerts including his works, between July and October of 2012.  More than 130 musicians, including 28 composers, participated of QUINZE (CDs and series).

His discography includes 14 CDs as producer, 14 as composer, 22 as general producer, 2 as arranger and 2 as pianist. His catalog of compositions includes approximately 115 works for various ensembles, including Symphony Orchestra.  

Sergio Roberto de Oliveira is a member of the Latin Academy of the Arts and Science of Recording.

He died from pancreatic cancer in 2017.

Composed in 1899 whilst Ravel was being taught by Fauré, this charming work was originally written for solo piano and then orchestrated in 1910. Sharing a passion for Spanish customs, like one of his contemporaries, Debussy, Ravel composed and dedicated this elegant work for his patron, the Princesse de Polignac, and he probably performed the work at the princess's home on several occasions. There have been thousands of performances across the world since then and is consistently voted into the ClassicFM Hall of Fame each year. This arrangement for brass band retains the original key and features several flourishes for vibraphone, which should not be rushed.

Kevin composed Princes' Celebration in 2007 for the wedding of Jef and Sarah Sparkes whilst composer in Residence of the band now known as the Acceler8 Band. The pieces derives it's material from the Prince of Denmarks March (Trumpet Voluntary)by Jeremiah Clarke. The original is still popular at weddings but this celebratory take on the material would work well either for a wedding of brass band people or woud make a suitable opening piece for any concert.
