A classic for the wind band, SEA SONGS is a delightful piece to play. But due to early 20th century scoring practices, the Bass Clarinet part is written very high in range – almost like a 4th Clarinet part. And most of what it plays is doubled in other voices (saxes, euphonium, etc.). This means today's band loses the added sonority of the low register of the Bass Clarinet.
This special part puts the Bass Clarinet back in the low register and doubles the Tuba line. Much more enjoyable for your Bass Clarinetist! Also included is a second specially-constructed part which includes most of the Bassoon 2 line interwoven with the Tuba line. Choose which one works best for your player/band.
NOTE: this Digital Download is assembled with two complete parts for Bass Clarinet. When you download/print the full document (4 pages, total), the first page to print will be marked SAMPLE, the second page will be the Bass Clarinet strictly doubling the Tuba line, and the last two pages will be the Bass Clarinet doubling the Bassoon 2 and Tuba line.
