Edited version with all parts and score of the original manuscript. This is a lesser known work by Ysaye, maybe because of its unusual orchestration, for six violins and two violas, without cello and double bass parts, however it is a masterwork that should be played much more often.

This arrangement of the ever-popular Chanson de Nuit is for string sextet - 2 violins, 2 violas, 2 'celli. The melodic interest is largely with the 1st viola which means it could also be used as a solo viola and strings showpiece with the 2nd ‘cello part being played by the basses. Both options are included here. An easily readable arrangement for players of intermediate standard and a great inclusion into any concert programme.
