This arrangement is intended for school Orff and marimba ensembles of all levels. It comes with score, student parts and lead sheets for transposing instruments. The Orff student parts are in alphanote format to help young musicians who may not have strong enough skills to read standard notation. Please note - the student parts do not match the score but rather only show the basic patterns to be played for the arrangement. Any variations should be taught via rote instruction from the score. Several options are provided for playing the melody. One way is to have the Orff instruments play it using the alternate melody. A trumpet was the only instrument that could be heard above the noise of the audience! This is the wind quintet adaptation of the arrangement originally written for brass quintet. The lead moves around the parts and so this is indicated to make sure that the appropriate line remains prominent. Pay attention to all the tenuto and staccato marks. Make sure that the ff in measures 26, 42, 52, and at the end are as loud as you can get them without overblowing. The fluid lines of the lyrical middle section will test your powers of concentration.
