( My students in the second half of the John Thompson First Grade book play this.)  I have set it in A minor and there are just a couple position changes.  Students who have played my Ukrainian Bell Carol arrangement for the beginner level readily recognize the hand positions as well as the fingering for the eighth note run.  The chords are comfortable for the student to learn yet at the same time lend a richness to the piece.  My late elementary students love to play this during the holiday season; some even ask to learn it in the middle of the summer, just for fun.  A perennially popular piece arranged for the late elementary student.

Beginner level arrangement of this popular Christmas/wintertime song.  Written for right hand only, this piece begins with the hand in A minor position.  It has one position change when preparing for the run, and the run includes a typical '1 crosses under the 3' change, as well as two accidentals.  Then the hand position returns to A minor for the return to the first theme to end the piece.  This piece is easily learned by students at the beginner level.  I have two more arrangements, both in A minor, one at the late elementary level and one at the intermediate level.  Students recognize the eighth note run, as it's the same for each arrangement, and this is very motivating and reassuring to them.  My students enjoy 'collecting' these arrangements as they advance, as the holiday season rolls around again and they are ready to learn the next arrangement.

A rich arrangement of this perennial favorite, written for the intermediate student.  This arrangement includes 7 of the themes found in the original composition.  Set in A minor, with some repetition of themes and very 'hand-friendly' chords, this is as accessible as it is motivating for intermediate students.  Teen and adult students especially seem to enjoy this one.  If your student has played either or both of my other arrangements for this piece (there is one for beginner and one for late elementary level), they will recognize the eighth note run, as it is identical in each arrangement.  I find this helps the student feel competent and confident, to find a nugget in the new piece that they already know well.  This piece is great for a holiday-season recital, or even for a short piece for a church service.
