Panis angelicus (Latin for Bread of Angels or Angelic Bread) is the penultimate strophe of the hymn Sacris solemniis written by Saint Thomas Aquinas for the Feast of Corpus Christi as part of a complete liturgy of the feast, including prayers for the Mass and the Liturgy of the Hours.

The strophe of Sacris solemniis that begins with the words Panis angelicus (bread of angels) has often been set to music separately from the rest of the hymn. Most famously, in 1872 César Franck set this strophe for tenor voice, harp, cello, and organ, and incorporated it into his Messe à trois voix, Op. 12.

This wonderful modern brass quintet arrangement of Joseph Pugh's features 1st trumpet and horn in F with melody.The lyrics of Angels We Have Heard on High were written to fit with the music French traditional song 'Les Anges Dans Nos Campagnes' (literally translates to 'The Angels in our Countryside') that was composed by an unknown author in France. Chadwick's lyrics are clearly inspired but are not a direct translation of the song, though there are similarities. It is considered a derivative work. Chadwick's version is the much more popular and commonplace.[6] (Wikipedia).

Away in a Manger is one of the most popular Christmas carols and there are a number of musical settings of it. The most popular musical setting of it in the United States is the tune commonly known as Mueller. It was composed by James R. Murray and was first published under the name Luther's Cradle Hymn, in his collection Dainty Songs for Little Lads and Lasses, in 1887. It was intended for use in kindergarten, school and home.

In this selection, Regis Bookshar has arranged three verses of this popular Christmas carol for a Brass Quintet, consisting of 2 Trumpets, 1 French Horn, 1 Trombone and 1 Tuba. The first verse is a traditional setting of the tune while the second verse has a more complex accompaniment. The third verse also includes a descant. Between the second and third verses, he has included a short interlude. Angels We Have Heard on High is a Christmas carol with the lyrics written by James Chadwick, Bishop of Hexham and Newcastle, to the music from a French song called Les Anges Dans Nos Campagnes. The music is the same as the original song, though Chadwick's lyrics albeit unique and original are clearly derived and inspired, and in parts a loose translation. The song’s subject is the birth of Jesus Christ narrated in the Gospel of Luke, specifically the scene in which shepherds outside Bethlehem encounter a multitude of angels singing and praising the newborn child. This arrangement of the popular Christmas carol opens with a fragmented melody and bell tones in the low brass. The first section follows a more traditional harmonization of the melody with the trumpets providing an ornamental statement of the Gloria. The trombone takes over the melody at the key change, ultimately handing it off to the horn for the final Gloria to bring the piece to a close. The trumpets frequently provide an ornamental harmony that floats above the rest of the ensemble, with trombone adding to this in the final bars of the piece. This arrangement would be an exciting addition to any holiday concert. Accessible and challenging for each member of the ensemble.

Angelo is a song by British pop group Brotherhood of Man. Released as a single in June 1977,
it became the group's second UK number one hit. The song tells of a shepherd in Mexico who falls
in love with a rich girl, but he is met with resistance from her family. Both aware that her family would
never allow the union, they run away together and commit suicide.
