Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.554008 Composed by Bela Bartok. Arranged by Ray Thompson. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary,Folk,World. Score and parts. 25 pages. RayThompsonMusic #6455715. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.554008). Romanian Folk Dances  Sz. 56, BB 68 is a suite of six short piano pieces composed by Béla Bartók in 1915. He later orchestrated it for small ensemble in 1917 as Sz. 68, BB 76.It is based on seven Romanian tunes from Transylvania, originally played on fiddle or shepherd's flute. The original name for the piece was titled Romanian Folk Dances from Hungary but was later changed by Bartók when Transylvania became part of Romania in 1920. It is nowadays available in the 1971 edition which is written with key signatures although Bartók rarely ever used key signatures. This set of dances consists of six movements and, according to the composer, it should take four minutes and three seconds to perform, but most professional pianists take up to five minutes. The list of the movements is as follows (with the original Hungarian title listed first, the most commonly known Romanian title second, and the English translation in parentheses):

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1003143 Composed by Bela Bartok. Arranged by Onder Ozkoc. 20th Century,Standards. Score and parts. 65 pages. Onder Ozkoc #3682975. Published by Onder Ozkoc (A0.1003143). This set is a Brass Quintet (2 Trumpets in Bb, Horn in F, Trombone, Tuba) arrangement of Bartok’s Ten Easy Pieces for Piano (Sz 39, BB 51) with score and parts. Music originally has 11 short pieces with first piece numbered 0 (0 + 10). These pieces are actually not easy, they are mature and deep. This arrangement has got 9 pieces from Ten Easy Pieces. It seemed unreasonable (and maybe impossible!) to arrange other 2 pieces (nos. 9-10) in my opinion. All dynamics and tempo markings were written on the score like Bartok did. However, it was should kept in mind that this is an arrangement for brass quintet. So you should (and maybe must) try to find your own dynamics and tempos to achieve a great and seemlier result. There are *sign on some notes and it means, you may play these notes as written or an octave higher. If this sign is on the two or more parts in a same measure, you have to decide together to play an octave higher or not. In addition, you may play these nice pieces with your own ordering, regardless of numbers. It has 65 pages (score + parts).

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.931257 By Glenn Miller. By J. Winner and R. Eastburn. Arranged by Alessandro Macrì. Jazz. Score and parts. 15 pages. Music Macri Editions #5796765. Published by Music Macri Editions (A0.931257). Little Brown Jug is a song written in 1869 by Joseph Eastburn Winner, originally published in Philadelphia with the author listed as Winner's middle name Eastburn. It was originally a drinking song. It remained well known as a folk song into the early 20th century. Like many songs which make reference to alcohol, it enjoyed new popularity during the Prohibition era. In 1939, bandleader Glenn Miller recorded and broadcast his swing instrumental arrangement of the tune with great success, and the number became one of the best known orchestrations of the American Big Band era. The same melody was used for the song My Ding-a-Ling written by Dave Bartholomew, which became a Number 1 hit in 1972 for Chuck Berry.

Peet du Toit #6052721. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.802630). The Bonnie Banks o' Loch Lomond, or simply Loch Lomond for short, is a well-known traditional Scottish song (Roud No. 9598) first published in 1841 in Vocal Melodies of Scotland. The song prominently features Loch Lomond, the largest Scottish loch (lake or inlet to the sea), located between the council areas of West Dunbartonshire, Stirling and Argyll and Bute. In Scots, bonnie means pretty, often in reference to a female. The original composer is unknown, as is definitive information on any traditional lyrics. In this arrangement for brass quintet, various harmonisations can be enjoyed with the same beautiful melody.

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1033890 Composed by Jaromir Vejvoda. Arranged by F. Leslie Smith. Holiday,Pop,Wedding. Score and parts. 41 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #639202. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.1033890).      Jaromir Vejvoda, born in 1902 in the Czech city of Zbraslav, was a fiddler and flugelhorn player. As a young man, he began writing music while working as a bartender. In 1927 he composed a particularly rollicking, toe-tapping tune. He persuaded the Czech-American composer Eduard Ingriš to write an arrangement for the piece, and the result was titled "ModÅ™anská polka" (ModÅ™any being the Prague suburb in which it was first performed). In 1934 Václav Zeman added lyrics, and the title changed to "Škoda lásky," Czech for “Wasted Love.” It also became known as “Rosamunde.” The public loved it. It was so successful that Vejvoda was able to quit tending bar and turn full time to music. The polka soon spread to other countries. Lew Brown and Wladimir Timm added English lyrics, and when the Andrews Sisters recorded it in 1939 as “Beer Barrel Polka,” it became one of their biggest hits. During World War II it was the favorite song of the Western Allies and has since been played and recorded by literally dozens of artists.      Suggested tempo for this brass quintet “Škoda lásky” is 120 BPM. It opens in C major, changes to F major, then back to C. All five instruments get a chance to shine. There are no really tricky rhythmic patterns, and the notes are, for the most part, within the normal playing range of each instrument. Some possible exceptions: Trombone’s highest notes are F above the staff; it’s lowest, G at the bottom; Tuba’s highest notes are F in the staff; Trumpet 2’s highest are its G at the top of its staff.      Completed in 2022, performance time runs about 3 minutes. The arranger, Les Smith, will be happy to provide substitute parts (for example, treble clef baritone for trombone) at no charge. He would also like to receive your suggestions, comments, corrections and criticisms. Contact him directly at lessmith61@bellsouth.net. For more arrangements by Les, enter "Sweetwater Brass Press" (without the quotation marks) in the search box. (Also, purchase of this piece entitles you to your choice of another of his arrangements at no charge; send a copy of your purchase receipt directly to him at lessmith61@bellsouth.net.)

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.931212 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Alessandro Macrì. Classical. Score and parts. 13 pages. Music Macri Editions #3687655. Published by Music Macri Editions (A0.931212).

This popular processional by Felix Mendelssohn is a tradition at many wedding ceremonies. It has been arranged and scored for an 8-piece brass ensemble. It includes an optional timpani part. The original spirit and compassion of the piece is retained in this well-arranged version. It sounds great without the percussion.
