It was scored with Ferde Grofé’s Jr. The Grand Canyon Suite theme (a composition from 1931).From the second season onwards, the I Love Lucy signature tune we all know so well became the main theme, and one of the most recognizable pieces of music on the planet. It was written by composer Eliot Daniel who cranked it out in an afternoon as a favor to his old Coast Guard buddy Jess Oppenheimer, the show’s producer. Since Daniel still had another year under his exclusive contract to Fox, he asked Oppenheimer to keep his name out of it. Consequently his name does not appear on first or the second season TV credits for what became one of the most popular TV themes. Later, Daniel did seek credit and received royalties from syndicated reruns for the rest of his life.The lyrics were written by Harold Adamson for an episode in the third season in which Lucy believes everyone has forgotten her birthday. Written for Sardigna Brass Festival Three Dances from Terpsichore (Introduzione - Spagnola - Bransle simple de Novelle) The Terpsichore is a compendium of more than 300 instrumental dances published in 1612 by the German composer Michael Praetorius. The collection takes its name from the muse of dance. In his introduction Praetorius takes credit for arranging the music rather than composing the tunes. The collection is based on French dance repertoire of the time, although some of the tunes have been identified as coming from elsewhere in Europe, for example England and Spain. The publication was rediscovered in the twentieth century by the early music movement. Recordings include a selection performed by the Early Music Consort (which was released in 1973),and others from the New London Consort etc.

The Agnus dei credited to Georges Bizet is based on the Intermezzo from the L'Arlesienne Suite No. 2 taken from Bizet's 1872 music to Alphonse Daudet's play. Bizet had only made one suite out of his L'Arlesienne music and four years after the death of the composer the publisher commisioned Bizet's close friend Ernest Guirard to compile another. Apart from preparing this second suite Guirard extracted the Intermezzo movement and added the catholic Latin text of the Agnus Dei to it. It was published as another new work of Bizet.

Ma Strauss non aveva alcun dubbio al riguardo del valzer, Rosen aus dem Süden, che aveva frettolosamente assemblato da motivi dell'operetta. L'edizione per pianoforte venne pubblicata dal suo editore, Cranz, appena quattro giorni dopo la prima del lavoro.L'onore di condurre la prima rappresentazione di Rosen aus dem Süden toccò al fratello Johann, Eduard Strauss, ancora impegnato in un tour di concerti in Germania quando vi fu la prima dell'operetta, che il 7 novembre lo eseguì durante uno dei concerti della domenica pomeriggio diretti da Eduard al Musikverein.Il valzer racchiude al suo interno alcune delle più belle arie dell'operetta, due arie che già avevano ricevuto la lode alla prima rappresentazione furono quella del re nel primo atto Stets kommt mir wieder in den Sinn (il ritornello che Strauss sostenne di aver dovuto riscrivere per ben 12 volte) e la romanza di Cervantes del secondo atto Wo die Wilde erblht Rose.

Gabrieli used the layout of his musical home, the San Marco Church in Venice with its two choir lofts facing each other, to create the first spatial or antiphonal music for early brass instruments, cornetti, and sackbuts.Maestro Fabrizio Bugani has done a wonderful job of editing this almost 4-minute work for a double brass choir of 10 instruments (two brass quintets). Included are numerous substitute parts which include Trumpets in C, Horns, and Alto Trombones. If one wishes a pure cylindrical choir; that can be achieved by using the Alto Trombones in place of the conical Horns.This edition is appropriate for moderately advanced performers and is pitched in the key of B-flat, down a step from the original.Instrumentation is for double brass quintets of 4 B-flat Trumpets, 2 Horns and 4 Trombones.
