Composed by R. Schumann. Arranged by Diego Marani. Classical,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 9 pages. Diego Marani #3068943. Published by Diego Marani (A0.527662).

Kinderszenen (original spelling Kinderscenen, Scenes from Childhood), Opus 15, by Robert Schumann, is a set of thirteen pieces of music for piano written in 1838. Schumann wrote 30 movements for this work, but chose 13 for the final version. The unused movements were later published in Bunte Blätter, Opus 99, and Albumblätter, Opus 124. Discussing the set, Schumann told his wife Clara that the thirty small, droll things were inspired by her comment that he sometimes seemed like a child. In 1840, he described them as more cheerful, gentler, more melodic than his earlier works. Movement No. 7 of the work, Träumerei, is one of Schumann's best known pieces; it is the opening and closing musical theme of the 1947 Hollywood film Song of Love, and Träumerei is the title of a 1944 German biographical film on Schumann.

This arrangement for brass quartet includes the following parts: Bb Trumpet 1, Bb Trumpet 2, Trombone or F Horn, Tuba.

Composed by Robert Schumann. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Romantic Period,Standards. Score and parts. 8 pages. Phil Beaman #6039387. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.844975).

In 1848 Robert Schumann wrote a set of piano pieces for his daughters which he called Album for the Young. One of those pieces was titled Northern Song. I have divided the thick original piano chords into an Instrumental Quintet. When playing this song use your ears to make sure every note of the chord is equally blended and balanced amongst all instruments in your ensemble. The final product is a clean, pleasant recital piece that is not too difficult but sounds rich and more advanced.

Composed by Richard John (Gb1) Thompson. Arranged by Peet du Toit. Contemporary. Score and parts. 7 pages. Peet du Toit #6050213. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.802627).

The Banks O' Doon (Modern Scots: The Banks o Doon) is a Scots song written by Robert Burns in 1791, sometimes known as Ye Banks and Braes (after the opening line of the third version). Burns set the lyrics to an air called The Caledonian Hunt's Delight. Its melodic schema was also used for Phule Phule Dhole Dhole, a song by Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore.

The song was inspired by the story of Margaret (Peggy) Kennedy (1766-95), who was seduced and then abandoned by Andrew McDouall, the son of a wealthy family and sometime Member of Parliament for Wigtonshire. Kennedy sued for a declarator of marriage, but died prior to adjudication of the case. Although the Consistorial court found the marriage claim valid, the Court of Session decided the marriage claim failed, but found McDouall to be the father of Kennedy's daughter and ordered that he pay £3,000 to Kennedy's estate and provide for the child.

(Burns wrote a second poem about Peggy, who he had met when she was 18 - Young Peggy Blooms.)
