The single reached number 1 in the UK Singles Chart on 8 June 1967 and stayed there for six weeks. Without much promotion, it reached number 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100. One of the anthems of the 1967 Summer of Love, it is one of the most commercially successful singles in history, having sold more than 10 million copies worldwide.Keith Reid got the title and starting point for the song at a party. He overheard someone at the party saying to a woman, You've turned a whiter shade of pale, and the phrase stuck in his mind. Here is my representation of this magical music to be performed by a brass quintet and a percussionist. Enjoy!

Brass Ensemble,Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1514884 Composed by William Ortiz. 21st Century,Chamber,Contemporary,Hip-Hop,Latin. 16 pages. William Ortiz #1089378. Published by William Ortiz (A0.1514884). “Sandungueo”, for Brass Quintet, uses Caribbean and Hip-Hop dance motives to create a lively and energetic dancescape. The opening fragmented “cencerro” and reggaeton rhythmic motive proclaimed is significant in that it introduces the works essence. “Sandungueo” is a style of dance and party music associated with reggaeton. This “cencerro” and “guaguanco” tumbao motives return throughout the piece in various guises and changes of tonality. The piece emulates a jazz ensemble where there are sections in which the instruments are called upon to solo against a rhythmic basso continuo or vamp. Latin and Hip-Hop rhythmic motives are prominent and integral to the work. This piece is a reworking of the second movement of my “Quinteto de Metales”.

Brass Ensemble Euphonium,Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Digital Download SKU: A0.722766 Composed by George Gershwin. Arranged by Jari A. Villanueva. 20th Century,Broadway,Folk,Ragtime. Score and parts. 26 pages. JV MUSIC #4297713. Published by JV MUSIC (A0.722766). Swanee by George Gershwin for Brass Quintet with Optional Drums and optional parts for Eb Horn and Baritone TC Arranged by Jari Villanueva Score2 Trumpets in BbHorn in FTromboneTubaEb Alto Horn Substitute part for Horn in FTreble Clef Baritone Substitute part for Trombone Swanee was George Gershwin’s first big song hit written in 1919. The song was written for a New York City revue called Demi-Tasse, which opened in October 1919 in the Capitol Theater. Caesar and Gershwin, who was then aged 20, claimed to have written the song in about ten minutes riding on a bus in Manhattan, finishing it at Gershwin's apartment. It was written partly as a parody of Stephen Foster's Old Folks at Home. It was originally used as a big production number, with 60 chorus girls dancing with electric lights in their slippers on an otherwise darkened stage. The song had little impact in its first show, but not long afterwards Gershwin played it at a party where Al Jolson heard it. Jolson then put it into his show Sinbad, already a success at the Winter Garden Theatre, and recorded it for Columbia Records in January 1920. After that, said Gershwin, Swanee penetrated the four corners of the earth. The song was charted in 1920 for 18 weeks holding the No. 1 position for nine. It sold a million sheet music copies, and an estimated two million records. It became Gershwin's first hit and the biggest-selling song of his career; the money he earned from it allowed him to concentrate on theatre work and films rather than writing further single pop hits.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYVgQDl6G3g

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.844927 By The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Ray Thompson. Pop. 10 pages. RayThompsonMusic #450440. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.844927). Arranged standard brass quintet: 2tpts, hn. tbn and tuba. Opening piano solo arr horn and tuba, then melody is taken by tpt 2 , chorus by trumpet 1. Fun for everyone.Martha My Dear is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1968 eponymous double album The Beatles (also known as the White Album). Credited to Lennon–McCartney, the song was written solely by Paul McCartney about his Old English Sheepdog, Martha. It has been covered by several artists, including Slade, Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass, Phish, World Party, and Les Boréades de Montréal.The song incorporates elements from pop rock music; it also features a music hall-inspired piano line that recurs throughout the piece, as well as a brass section. The song modulates through several keys The song is notated mainly in the key of E♭ major, showing up embellished chords with jazzy sprinkled dissonances. The verse is a syncopated replicate of the first melodic section adding two extra beats, a technique similar to that used later by McCartney in Two of Us. Though the bridge is in the key of F major, the manner in which it abruptly sets in and exits makes it sound more out-of-the-way than it really is.
