Master Tin Pan Alley songwriting team Henry Creamer and John Turner Layton paired up to write Come Along (I'm Through with Worryin'), a cheerful, up tempo song with the chorus derived from the spiritual Swing Low, Sweet Chariot. In Creamer and Layton's rendition of the song, the verse is march-like. Mexican songwriter Consuelo Velazquez wrote Besame Mucho, words and music, in 1941. When she died in 2005, The New York Times said this of the song in her obituary: 'Bésame Mucho' is not so much an enduring standard as a global phenomenon. Translated into dozens of languages and performed by hundreds of artists, the song has been an emblem of Latin identity, an anthem of lovers separated by World War II and perennial grist for lounge singers everywhere. Virtually every professional recording musician has covered it, from the Beatles to Placido Domingo. This arrangement borrows its 6/4 time signature (and not much more) from the 2001 recording by Maynard Ferguson and Diane Schuur. It's a little more accessible than Ferguson's screaming big band chart.

This classic Karl King circus screamer march has been adapted for brass quintet.  The tempo you decide to perform it at  is up to the ability of your group but played at a brisk pace will last about 90 seconds.  Great as an opener, closer or just a change of pace, this arrangement is playable by advanced high school musicians looking for a challenge.  Community brass quintets will find it a challenge but well worth the work and response from the audience.
