Yakety Sax is a pop novelty instrumental jointly composed by James Q. Spider Rich and Boots Randolph. Saxophonist Randolph popularized the selection in his 1963 recording, which reached number 35 on the rock charts. UK comedian Benny Hill later made it more widely known as the closing theme music of The Benny Hill Show. The piece is considered Randolph's signature work. Arranged here in a rather orchestral style for Brass Quintet.

Ramseyer was a noted American radio pastor, musician, and composer. He and his wife broadcasted their music on the radio in the early part of the 20th Century. They also worked along side revivalists such as Billy Sunday and Oswald J. Smith. Sections A and C are the verse. Section B and D are the chorus. A modulation to a new key occurs at the end of section B with the aid of an Italian augmente sixth chord. A descant by yours truly is then added.

Watts was an English 17th/18th Century shoolmaster, minister, and hymnist. Lowell was a 19th Century hymnis from Massachusettes. This hymn was based on a Gregaoria chant called Hamburg. Section A exposits the hymn. Section B goes into a minor key with a legubrious and funereal feeling. The first trumpet adds a phrase that is almost like a waling quality. Section B then ends on a picrady third followed by an Italian augmented sixth chord. Section C is now the newly modulated major key with a descant by yours truly added.

Heber was a British clergyman, poet, and hymnist of the early 19th Century. Cutler was a 19th Centruy organist and hymnist from Boston, Massachusetts. This work was based on texts from Psalm 24:8, the synoptic Gospels, and Revelation. Section A starts off the hymn. A modulation to a new key at the end of B section with the aid of a French augmented sixth chord. Section C includes a descant by ytours truly.
