Allegri's Miserere adapted for Tuba Quintet.Program Notes:Miserere mei, Deus (Latin for Have mercy on me, O God) is a setting of Psalm 51 by Italian composer Gregorio Allegri and is one of the most recorded pieces from the Renaissance. It was composed during the reign of Pope Urban VIII, probably during the 1630s for use in the Sistine Chapel. Originally composed for two choirs (one of 5 voices, one of 4 voices) this adaptation has been arranged for tuba quintet.Performance Notes:Optional repeat included to match the original 5 verses. Without the accompanying lyrics, minor liberties have been taken with the repeated rhythms beginning each verse. Interpretation adapted from the 1824 manuscript by Anton Friedrich Justus Thibaut.
