Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1465650 Composed by Harry Warren and Jack Brooks. Arranged by Will Corbin. Film/TV,Pop. 23 pages. Will Corbin #1044262. Published by Will Corbin (A0.1465650). Jerry Lewis ostensibly forked over $30,000 of his own money to the songwriters to come up with something that woluld be a hit for his movie partner, Dean Martin. That's Amore did the job, becoming Martin's signature song. It first showed up in the 1953 Martin/Lewis comedy The Caddy, for which it received an Oscar nomination for best oriiginal song. (It lost to Doris Day''s Secret Love from Calamity Jane.It has been covered countless times, by artists from Annette Funicello to the Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra. This version leans on the trumpets for melody, with the others providing the oom-pah-pah and other support. Nothing fancy -- just fun, and a crowd pleaser. If you need other instrumentation, please contact me at wilcor@aol.com.

Brass Quintet Euphonium,Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1382118 Composed by John Philip Sousa. Arranged by Matthew Nunes. Chamber,Folk,Historic,March,Patriotic. 26 pages. Matthew Nunes Music #966645. Published by Matthew Nunes Music (A0.1382118). A medley march, using sea chanteys Knock a Man Down, Away for Rio, Haul the Bowline, The Ballad of Billy Taylor, It’s Time for Us to Leave Her, Put up Clearing Gear, Hoodah Day, and A-Roving. Easily one of Sousa’s most enjoyable.  This Brass Quintet arrangement was made using “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band’s The Complete Marches of John Philip Sousa score as found at https://www.marineband.marines.mil/Audio-Resources/The-Complete-Marches-of-John-Philip-Sousa/. The Chantyman’s March was composed in 1918, and the referenced edition was made Public Domain in 2019. The piece is catalogued as Volume 5, No. 83.Section titles (such as “First Strain” and “Trio”) follow the measure numbers provided by that edition. Each instrument follows its full-band part as often as possible, the only exception being Trombone covering the Euphonium/Baritone part. Because of this, Euphonium/Baritone would make a suitable substitute.

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1405315 By Hank Williams. By Hank Williams. Arranged by Peet du Toit. Country. 26 pages. Peet du Toit #988363. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.1405315). Jambalaya (On the Bayou) is a song written and recorded by American country music singer Hank Williams that was first released in July 1952. Named for a Creole and Cajun dish, jambalaya, it spawned numerous cover versions and has since achieved popularity in several different music genres.Since the original melody of the song was from Grand Texas, the song is a staple of Cajun culture. However, although Williams kept a Louisiana theme, the song is not a true cajun song, which helped the song gain widespread popularity:Ethnic music is usually unpalatable for a mass market unless it is diluted in some way (Harry Belafonte's calypsos, Paul Simon's Graceland… the list is endless). The broader audience related to 'Jambalaya' in a way that it could never relate to a true cajun two-step led by an asthmatic accordion and sung in patois. The Carpenters featured the song, in an up-tempo pop version with country flourishes, on their 1973 album Now & Then. Their version was released as a single outside the United States in 1974 and sold well in the UK (peaking at number 12 in the charts) and Japan.Presented here as a brass quintet with up-tempo percussion, there is some resemblance of the Carpenters' cover, but also demands spectacular playing from all the players. Enjoy!

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1461116 Composed by Burton Lane and Ralph Freed. Arranged by Will Corbin. Broadway,Historic,Musical/Show,Pop. 18 pages. Will Corbin #1040026. Published by Will Corbin (A0.1461116). Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney sang this as a conversation duet in the 1941 film Babes On Broadway, one of their many screen collaborations. And it's the only song from the film you've ever heard of since. It pops up here and there in movies, and was most famously covered by Frank Sinatra. The lyrics were a product of their times. The original featured the line, Franklin Roosevelt's looks give me a thrill. Sinatra substituted James Durante's looks. Neither works today. This arrangement, for two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba, picks up the original's conversation, passing it among the four higher horns. If you'd like alternative instrumentation, I'm happy to accommodate. Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1460513 By John Denver. By Johnny Marks. Arranged by Will Corbin. Children,Christmas,Pop. 10 pages. Will Corbin #1039437. Published by Will Corbin (A0.1460513). The Rudolph story begins in 1939, when Montgomery Ward asked Robert May, one of its ad copywriters, to come up with a kids' book for its Christmas shoppers. The result was the now-familiar red-nosed reindeer. (For those born in later generations, Mongomery Ward was a giant, like Sears, in the mail-order retail business. Kind of like Amazon without the Internet.) May's brother-in-law, Johnny Marks, turned it into a song a decade later. Gene Autry recorded it for Christmas in 1949, and it immediately hit No. 1 on the pop music charts. It was still there at the end of the first week of January, making it the first No. 1 hit of the 1950s.Its sales since then, including countless covers, have surpassed 150 million. Only White Christmas, among holiday songs, has sold more.If you need alternative instrumentation, I'm happy to accommodate. Contact me at wilcor@aol.com.

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1460790 Composed by Oscar Hammerstein and Richard Rodgers. Arranged by Will Corbin. Broadway,Musical/Show,Pop. 22 pages. Will Corbin #1039689. Published by Will Corbin (A0.1460790). Here's a chirpy little song from Rodgers & Hammerstein's 1949 production of South Pacific, also mildly mashed up with another song, Bali Hai, from the same production. Lots of covers, from Ella Fitzgerald to a Brit punker who called himself Captain Sensible. (He was sensible enough to spend two weeks at the top of the UK singles list with his version in 1982.)This song draws some criticism from the politically correct for its pidgin English lyric (it's sung by a Polynesian woman in the musical). No lyrics here, just an amusing and fairly simple tune for two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba. If you need other instrumentation, I'm happy to help. Contact me at wilcor@aol.com.

Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1158382 Composed by Dr. Daniel N. Thrower. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical. 49 pages. Https://gildedmusicpress.com/ #758665. Published by https://gildedmusicpress.com/ (A0.1158382). Brass quintet in six short movements. Duration, approx. 8 minutes. Movement I: “Family Vacations.” Fond memories of childhood vacations as well as leading out on road trips as a father, are reflected by the excitement of this movement. Feel free to reminisce on your own family trips as you listen to or perform this movement. Movement II: “Jovial Banter.” I was going to call this movement “Roughhousing,” but that is only part of what this playful piece conjures. Besides wrestling my five boys (with my one girl amusedly watching off to the side), friendly joking with friends about rival universities, and playing harmless pranks on friends and family, all seem to be rolled up into this truly jovial movement. It has its own tricks and surprises to one who has never heard it before. Movement III: “Holiday Foods.” This waltz displays more elegance and structure than most of the other movements. It primarily elicits memories of the distinctive Thrower Christmas feasts, for which we created a unique tradition. Our yuletide banquets hail from a different country every year. Through the decades, we have discovered and adopted many international favorites that we continue to enjoy! Note the middle section of the waltz gets a bit spicy… Movement IV: “Pets.” Though as an adult I have not had the pleasure of enjoying personal pets, my youngest son developed an affinity for YouTube videos about funny cats and dogs. Nevertheless, my favorite childhood pet was “Blackie,” the splendid satin feline featured on the cover of this work. Pets are often quirky and extremely fun, as is this music. If it doesn’t put a smile on the listener’s face, someone in the line of musical communication may have failed. Movement V: “Sharing God’s Wonders.” Slow and wondrous, the music in this movement yearns to be shared. The theme, though only somewhat related to the other variations, strays to its own content after the first motivic notes. The melody is borrowed from a 2010 band composition of mine titled “Tribute to Joel Robison,” an ancestor, and a Texas hero. One passion I have enjoyed through the years is family history, truly a God-given legacy from which I draw much inspiration. Movement VI: “Personal Triumphs.” Indeed a subject to celebrate, triumphs of self-mastery, conquests over difficult tasks, and achievements of monumental goals all prompt me to break out in triumphant fanfares!

Brass Ensemble Euphonium,Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.722745 Composed by John Philip Sousa. Arranged by Jari A. Villanueva. Folk,Holiday,Patriotic,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 29 pages. JV MUSIC #3414623. Published by JV MUSIC (A0.722745). The Fairest of the Fair March for Brass Quintet and Optional DrumsBy John Philip Sousa Arranged by Jari VillanuevaScore 2 Trumpets in BbHorn in FTromboneTubaOptional DrumsSubstitute parts for Eb Horn and Baritone T.C .providedThe Fairest of the Fair (1908) by John Philip Sousa was composed for the annual Boston Food Fair of 1908 and is claimed that the memory of a pretty girl he had seen at an earlier fair inspired the composition. Sousa composed The Fairest of the Fair intending his Band to perform it at the annual Boston Food Fair in the fall of 1908. It is the only work of any kind that he composed that year and one of only a handful of compositions that he wrote between 1906 and 1910. He apparently completed it in New York during the summer, as the final page of the original score was signed John Philip Sousa, Camp Comfort, Saranac Lake, Adirondack, New York, July 8, 1908.The march almost missed its premier at the Boston Food Fair. Because of an oversight the music, which Sousa had written and scored out, did not have individual parts written out for the performers. This was discovered the day before the performance. The new composition had received much advanced publicity and it would have been an embarrassment to Sousa not to have it performed. The band’s copyist, Louis Morris, rose to the occasion and on the train to Boston stayed up and copied out the parts so the band could premier the work as advertised on September 28, 1908. In the morning when Sousa found out Morris was working all night he instructed him to finish the work and get some rest. Morris missed the concert and the premier but found an extra $50 in his next paycheck.Published by JV MUSIC Baltimore MD www.jvmusic.net https://youtu.be/KeE5dMnrevU

Flugelhorn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1158292 Composed by Dr. Daniel N. Thrower. 20th Century,Chamber,Jazz,Multicultural,World. 30 pages. Https://gildedmusicpress.com/ #758480. Published by https://gildedmusicpress.com/ (A0.1158292). Commentary written by the composer, Dr. Daniel N. Thrower: In July 2018 I spent nine days in Barra Mansa, Brazil, which lies a couple hours west of Rio de Janeiro. The occasion of my visit was the second annual International Music Festival. The festival coordinator, Vantoil de Sousa, Jr. brought me there to be the resident trumpet professor for the week, and to premiere my three-movement Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra at the Closing Concert. As I speak Portuguese somewhat fluently, many of the 20 trumpet students of all levels became great friends. Throughout the week I kept mentioning that my next composition was going to be “Lembranças do Brasil” as yet another musical journal entry in my life’s soundtrack. Truly, I had a lifetime of extraordinary experiences in Brazil during that week, from the outstanding food to my humorous self-introduction to capivaras! Overall, that week was supremely memorable and definitely a highlight of my life. One morning in early November 2018, a 'feel-good' cool melody woke me up and wouldn’t leave. It developed in my mind and I was in a spectacular mood all day long. It felt like Bobby McFarrin’s 'Don’t Worry, Be Happy' or Pharrell Williams’ 'Happy,' though in a vastly different style from either. This was my happy song. Long hours flowed quickly through the next few days as I worked out the form and details of the music, which screamed for the promised title 'Lembranças do Brasil'! Happy memories of my beautiful week in Brazil, some of which are captured on the front cover collage, now have the perfect soundtrack in my musical journal. This version was tweaked from the original five flugelhorns, and lends itself very well (perhaps even better) in the brass quintet setting.

Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1158017 Composed by Dr. Daniel N. Thrower. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical. 17 pages. Https://gildedmusicpress.com/ #758313. Published by https://gildedmusicpress.com/ (A0.1158017). Dr. Thrower grew up near the granite hills of northern Utah. As he composed this short fanfare, the octaves in the tuba and trombone conjured images of a solid foundation for the upper brass to build on. The imagery of a granite monolith powerfully provided a suitable title. He pictured himself back in the mountains of his youth, standing on seemingly eternal ground that even an earthquake would have difficulty cracking. The grandeur of that feeling of security and connection to something safe and firm is hopefully reflected in the power of the strong notes of this brief fanfare. Pictured on the cover is “Devil’s Tower” located in Wyoming. Although not in Utah, this monolith is a dramatic specimen, worthy of the intended musical imagery of this fanfare. The piece was composed for the student brass quintet at the University of Texas at San Antonio. The premiere performance opened their exciting concert on December 1, 2010. It has since been performed by various brass quintets throughout the United States, including universities and military ensembles.
