Peet du Toit #961705. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.1377086). Chariots of Fire is a 1981 British historical sports drama film directed by Hugh Hudson, written by Colin Welland and produced by David Puttnam. It is based on the true story of two British athletes in the 1924 Olympics: Eric Liddell, a devout Scottish Christian who runs for the glory of God, and Harold Abrahams, an English Jew who runs to overcome prejudice. Ben Cross and Ian Charleson star as Abrahams and Liddell, alongside Nigel Havers, Ian Holm, John Gielgud, Lindsay Anderson, Cheryl Campbell, Alice Krige, Brad Davis and Dennis Christopher in supporting roles. Kenneth Branagh makes his debut in a minor role.Chariots of Fire was nominated for seven Academy Awards and won four, including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay and Best Original Score for Vangelis' electronic theme tune. At the 35th British Academy Film Awards, the film was nominated in 11 categories and won in three, including Best Film. It is ranked 19th in the British Film Institute's list of Top 100 British films. The film's title was inspired by the line Bring me my Chariot of fire! from the William Blake poem adapted into the British hymn and unofficial English anthem Jerusalem; the hymn is heard at the end of the film.[4] The original phrase chariot(s) of fire is from 2 Kings 2:11 and 6:17 in the Bible.Nicholas Hare's cunning arrangement of the composition inspired me to orchestrate it for a brass quintet, where mostly the tuba plays percussive effects to indicate the tension of the race. Enjoy!

Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.964598 Composed by Johannes Brahms. Arranged by Betsy Bright. Children,Concert,Jewish,Romantic Period,World. Score and parts. 15 pages. Bright Music Company #6508043. Published by Bright Music Company (A0.964598). Brahms Hungarian Dance No. 5 is best known as an orchestral showpiece, though Brahms was not the orchestrator.  Brahms's original work was for piano 4-hands.  This brass quintet arrangement is a half step lower than Brahms's original piece, so it fits well into all of the brass parts.  Higher brass all have ample rest and nothing is high or taxing.  Also, the tempo changes have been written out, so there's no time wasted in rehearsal discussing how to handle tempo!  Speaking of tempo...this piece is super fun to play for education shows.  Kids can move along to the tempo and feel the abrupt changes throughout the piece. No playing headaches...just lots of fun for the musicians as well as the audience!  Duration:  2 minutesDifficulty:  Advanced Intermediate

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1329725 Composed by Alan Silvestri. Arranged by Alessandro MacrƬ. Contest,Festival,Film/TV,Video Game. 13 pages. Music Macri Editions #917710. Published by Music Macri Editions (A0.1329725). Avengers: Endgame (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the film score for the Marvel Studios film Avengers: Endgame composed and conducted by Alan Silvestri. In June 2016, Alan Silvestri, who composed the score for The Avengers, was revealed to be returning to score both Infinity War and Endgame. Discussing the tone of the film, Silvestri said that the Russos wanted it to be operatic for both films, with Endgame needing an aggressive musical approach. He stated that he found the film's pace to be invigorating, after having thunderous percussion and powerful brass propelling the massive battle sequences. Silvestri reprises his themes from the previous Avengers (2012) films and Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), as well as several other MCU themes, including Christophe Beck's Ant-Man theme, Michael Giacchino's Doctor Strange (2016) theme, and Pinar Toprak's Captain Marvel (2019) theme. Silvestri also reassured fans that Thanos's theme from Infinity War was present in the film. The score was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London with the London Symphony Orchestra consisting of about 95 musicians with Silvestri and orchestrator Mark Graham conducting the sessions. Scoring concluded in late March 2019.

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1375583 Composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by Dennis Wright (Arranger) & Peet du Toit (Orchestrator). Romantic Period. 58 pages. Peet du Toit #960114. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.1375583). The Capriccio Italien, Op. 45, is a fantasy for orchestra composed between January and May 1880 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. It premiered 18 December, 1880 (New System) in Moscow, conducted by Nikolay Rubinstein. The Capriccio was inspired by a trip Tchaikovsky took to Rome with his brother Modest as respite from the composer's disastrous marriage with Antonina Miliukova. It was in Rome, however, that the observant Tchaikovsky called Raphael a Mozart of painting. While in Rome, he wrote to his friend Nadezhda von Meck:I have already completed the sketches for an Italian fantasia on folk tunes for which I believe a good fortune may be predicted. It will be effective, thanks to the delightful tunes which I have succeeded in assembling partly from anthologies, partly from my own ears in the streets. The composer was able to soak up Italian street music and folk songs which he then incorporated into his Capriccio. This enables some bright primary colors and uncomplicated tunefulness..
