Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Digital Download SKU: A0.746795 Composed by Unknown. Arranged by Keith Terrett. Classical,Patriotic,World. 8 pages. Keith Terrett #3537297. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.746795). Arranged for Brass Quintet Russia’s first anthem used the same melody as the British God Save the King, and, like the British anthem, was also a hymn to the ruler. The melody was popular in Russia after the War of 1812 with France and several Russian poets penned Russian words to it. Zhukovsky’s lyrics were published in A Son of the Fatherland magazine in 1815 and was soon adopted as the national anthem. (The poet Alexander Pushkin also wrote two additional verses to the anthem, but I don’t believe they were official.

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1446054 Composed by Christoph Willibald Gluck,. Arranged by Keith Terrett. Classical,Contest,Festival,Historic,Instructional,Opera. 16 pages. Keith Terrett #1025876. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1446054). Orfeo ed Euridice is an opera composed by Christoph Willibald Gluck, based on the myth of Orpheus and set to a libretto by Ranieri de' Calzabigi. It belongs to the genre of the azione teatrale, meaning an opera on a mythological subject with choruses and dancing. The piece was first performed at the Burgtheater in Vienna on 5 October 1762, in the presence of Empress Maria Theresa. Orfeo ed Euridice is the first of Gluck's reform operas, in which he attempted to replace the abstruse plots and overly complex music of opera seria with a noble simplicity in both the music and the drama. The opera is the most popular of Gluck's works, and was one of the most influential on subsequent German operas. Variations on its plot—the underground rescue mission in which the hero must control, or conceal, his emotions—can be found in Mozart's The Magic Flute, Beethoven's Fidelio, and Wagner's Das Rheingold.Though originally set to an Italian libretto, Orfeo ed Euridice owes much to the genre of French opera, particularly in its use of accompanied recitative and a general absence of vocal virtuosity. Indeed, twelve years after the 1762 premiere, Gluck re-adapted the opera to suit the tastes of a Parisian audience at the Académie Royale de Musique with a libretto by Pierre-Louis Moline. This reworking was given the title Orphée et Eurydice, and several alterations were made in vocal casting and orchestration to suit French tastes.Ther picture is Count Francesco Algarotti, an Italian polymath, philosopher, poet, essayist, anglophile, art critic and art collector. He was a man of broad knowledge, an expert in Newtonianism, architecture and opera. He was a friend of Frederick the Great and leading authors of his times: Voltaire, Jean-Baptiste de Boyer, Marquis d'Argens, Pierre-Louis de Maupertuis and the atheist Julien Offray de La Mettrie. Lord Chesterfield, Thomas Gray, George Lyttelton, Thomas Hollis, Metastasio, Benedict XIV and Heinrich von Brühl were among his correspondents.''The Sicilienne and Rigaudon is one of the many pieces that violin virtuoso Fritz Kreisler composed in the style of other composers. When he first presented and published these pieces, he offered them as recently discovered works by those other composers, newly adapted and arranged by himself. In the case of Sicilienne and Rigaudon, it is eighteenth-century French violinist/composer François Francoeur whose name is on the title sheet, though the piece really has nothing to do with Francoeur's style. The piece is a simple and a charming one, however. The Sicilienne is a binary-form miniature that sweeps along on a characteristic dotted rhythm, with a rather melancholy melody. Think old French ballet. The constant 16th notes of the Rigaudon, give it a character quite unlike that of a traditional rigaudon-a cheerful Baroque dance movement in duple meter.

Brass Quintet Euphonium,Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1215110 By Keith Terrett. By Fredrik Pacius(1809-1891). Arranged by Keith Terrett. The Finnish NA arranged for Brass Quintet. There also versions for String & full Orchestra in my two stores. The anthem lyrics were taken from a poem by Johan Ludvig Runeberg, a Swedish-speaking poet, called “Vårt land†(Our Land). The song was first sung in 1848 by a student group and became popular in Scandinavia and many of his patriotic poems, including Vårt land were used by promoters of Finnish nationalism. The poem was translated into Finnish some decades later, after Vårt land was well established as a national song, by Paavo Eemil Kajander and became the anthem before 1917 independence. Estonia‘s anthem, adopted 20 years later, has the same melody, however the last few lines do not repeat as they do normally in the Finnish anthem. Interestingly, the anthem has never been officially legislated as the Finnish anthem, but rather is traditionally used as the anthem. As such, there is no standard way to perform the 11-verse anthem, but usually the first and the last verses (as presented here) are sung. There sometimes arises a debate in Finland to change the anthem to Jean Sibelius’ song “Finlandia†(the melody was used in Biafra), a song recognized internationally as a symbol of Finland, but the general opinion seems to be for now to keep the current anthem. (One reason may be that Finlandia is harder to sing compared to Maamme.)Need an anthem fast?  They are ALL in my store! All my anthem arrangements are also available for Orchestra, Recorders, Saxophones, Wind, Brass and Flexible band. Brass Ensemble Euphonium,Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.985734 Composed by Gustav Mahler. Arranged by Felix Linsmeier. 20th Century,Classical,Opera,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 13 pages. Felix Linsmeier #591393. Published by Felix Linsmeier (A0.985734). Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen is the third song of Gustav Mahler's famous cycle Rückert-Lieder. Rückert-Lieder (Songs after Rückert) is a collection of five Lieder for voice and orchestra or piano, based on poems written by Friedrich Rückert. The first four songs were premiered on 29 January 1905 in Vienna, Mahler himself conducting, together with his Kindertotenlieder (also on poems by Rückert). The set of songs was not intended as a cycle: the Lieder were originally published independently from each other, connected only by the poetry and common themes. However, they were later published together and most often have been performed together and come to be known as the Rückert-Lieder, although Mahler did set more texts of Rückert. This arrangement for brass quintet puts the singer's part for flugelhorn solo with the rest of the ensemble playing an adaption of the original's orchestra accompaniment. Using combination of mutes and open playing this arrangement archieves a differentiated sound that makes the complicated late-romantic harmony and counterpoint work really well in the stripped-down instrumentation.

Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1346872). If you are looking for a sheet music of an arrangement of Joy to the World for Brass Quintet, then you will love this version that we made, which brings a new look to this classic Christmas carol. Joy to the World is one of the most famous and oldest Christian songs, written by the poet, preacher, theologian and pedagogue Isaac Watts in 1719, based on Psalm 98 of the Bible. The melody that we know today was adapted by the American composer Lowell Mason in 1848, from a work by George Frideric Handel. In this arrangement, we have some fun with the melody, changing rhythms, harmonies and counterpoints, to give a new and magical air to the song, but without losing the essence of the original work. This arrangement is perfect for use in any Christmas event, such as chamber music in recitals, concerts, public shows, or as teaching material and incentive for music students. You will be amazed by the beauty and creativity of this arrangement, which will delight everyone who listens. Do not waste time and get your sheet music of Joy to the World, and be part of the history of this wonderful song.

Brass Ensemble,Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1202170 Composed by William Billings (1746-1800). Arranged by Todd Marchand. Christian,Easter,Sacred. Score and parts. 13 pages. Con Spirito Music #800831. Published by Con Spirito Music (A0.1202170). Ideal as a prelude or postlude to Easter Sunday and Eastertide services of worship, “Easter Anthem†originated as a choral work by William Billings (1746-1800) with text excerpted from Night Thoughts on Life, Death, and Immortality, an extensive blank-verse poem by the English poet Edward Young (1683-1765) published in nine parts (or “nightsâ€) from 1742 to 1745.Born in Boston, Billings was self-taught in music — a tanner by trade — and he was renowned as a singing master and proponent of the singing-school tradition of American folk culture. Considered the ï¬rst native-born American composer, his works include hymns, anthems, psalms, and fuging tunes.“Easter Anthem†is exemplary of his compositional style, which is noted for rhythmic vitality and straightforward harmonies. Exuberantly glorious, it celebrates the resurrection of Christ and the salvation of the world from its opening acclamation, “The Lord is risen indeed! Hallelujah!†to its closing declaration, Thine all the glory, man’s the endless bliss! The Lord is risen indeed! Hallelujah! Now is Christ risen from the dead,And become the ï¬rst fruit of them that slept.Hallelujah! And did he rise?Hear, O ye nations! Hear it, O ye dead!He rose! He burst the bars of death,And triumph'd o'er the grave. Then I rose! Then ï¬rst humanity triumphantPass'd the crystal ports of light,And seiz'd eternal youth.Man, all immortal, Hail!Heaven, all lavish of strange gifts to man,Thine all the glory! Man's the boundless bliss! This joyful work, which explores various combinations of choral voices, is well-suited to the sonorities of the brass quintet. In this arrangement, tempo indications, dynamic markings and articulations, as well as a newly composed timpani part, have been added by the arranger.©Copyright 2023 Todd Marchand / Con Spirito Music (ASCAP). The music was composed by the German immigrant Fredrik Pacius, with words by Johan Ludvig Runeberg, and with this music it was performed for the first time on 13 May 1848. The Star-Spangled Banner is the national anthem of the United States of America. The lyrics come from Defence of Fort M'Henry, a poem written on September 14, 1814, by the 35-year-old lawyer and amateur poet Francis Scott Key after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry by British ships of the Royal Navy in Baltimore Harbor during the Battle of Baltimore in the War of 1812. Key was inspired by the large American flag, the Star-Spangled Banner, flying triumphantly above the fort during the American victory. Jari Villanueva earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Music from Kent State University, Ohio. He retired from the US Air Force Band in Washington DC where he spent 23 years as a trumpeter, bugler and staff arranger. He started his publishing company JV MUSIC in 1995. Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.961206 Composed by Conrad Kocher, Donnalyn Grunewald. Arranged by Robert Coil. Holiday,Praise & Worship,Sacred. 16 pages. Polished Brass #6329555. Published by Polished Brass (A0.961206). This arrangement for brass quintet, is based on a tune that is often used for the lyrics, written by the German composer, Conrad Kocher, in 1836. The melody was modified by William Chatterton Dix in 1859, for a hymn titled As With Gladness Men Of Old, hence the tune is often identified in hymnals as DIX. Though there are several other hymn tunes that can be used with the text, this arrangement also uses a modern setting by Donnalynn Grunewald (2013) in triple meter. Folliott S. Pierpoint was an English teacher and poet. The words to For the Beauty of the Earth were written in 1864. The marriage of the text with the melody by Kocher/Dix is credited to an English organist, William H. Monk in 1861. The popularity of the hymn is due partly to the aptness of the text to Thanksgiving celebrations, thus assuring in annual performance. Not only do the words express thanks for the world in which we live, but it also includes thanks for family and friends, brother, sister, parent, child. Friends on earth and friends above. Also worthy of note is the universality of the sentiment, expressed in a way that can be embraced by people of any religion. The arranger, Bob Coil, is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of music, where he studied bass trombone with Betty Glover. Dr. Coil is the leader of the Bones of Cincinnatus trombone ensemble and the Polished Brass quintet in Cincinnati, OH.  This arrangement is available for trombone quintet and brass quintet.

Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1138522 Composed by Martin Luther. Arranged by Ander. Baroque,Christian,Instructional,Renaissance,Sacred. 8 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #738863. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1138522). This easy arrangement for brass quintet has been adapted to be simple to perform and understand, adapted for various levels of musical knowledge; from beginners to music professionals. It can be played freely due to the ease built into the piece in relation to the author's suggested interpretation. Recommended for performances at Christian ceremonies and liturgical events in churches, it also serves as a study of the Renaissance repertoire. A Mighty Fortress Is Our God or Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott is a hymn written by Martin Luther probably before 1529. The melody was also considered his work for a long time, but it was created at least with the collaboration of Johann Walter. The song is of great symbolic power for Protestantism; where it is also known as Deus noster refugium et virtus. Considered one of the most important hymns in the history of Christianity, it was considered by the Christian poet Johann Heirich Heine (1797-1856) to be the Marseillaise of the Reformation, in an allusion to the French national anthem.

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1261270 Composed by J.L. Macbeth Bain. Arranged by Todd Marchand. 19th Century,Christian,Folk,Sacred,Traditional. 16 pages. Con Spirito Music #854340. Published by Con Spirito Music (A0.1261270). Brother James' Air was composed by James Leith Macbeth Bain (1860-1925), a Scottish-born poet, author, mystic, and healer whose ministry took him to Liverpool and London, where he became known simply as Brother James. The tune is often sung to the metrical paraphrase of Psalm 23, The Lord's My Shepherd, by the Puritan religious author and English politician Francis Rous (c. 1581-1659), published in his The Psalms of David set forth in English meeter (1643). The angular, highly arpeggiated tune in bar form (AAB) is both stark and lovely, rising and falling before ascending to a high tonic cadence in its final phrase. Its harmonic simplicity — consisting primarily of I, IV, and V chords — lends itself to alternate harmonizations with substitute chords. Following a short introduction, this arrangement presents the tune four times: first, alternating between the two trumpets; second, by trio of horn, trombone, and tuba; third, in minor tonality (reflecting the psalm's verse 4 and the text's paraphrase, Yea, though I walk thro' death’s dark vale); and fourth, with powerful extended harmonies and surprise cadences resolving to a quiet, peaceful conclusion.  ©Copyright 2023 Todd Marchand / Con Spirito Music (ASCAP). Brass Ensemble,Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1147711 Composed by Traditional French Melody. Arranged by Todd Marchand. Christian,Christmas,Holiday,Sacred,Traditional. Score and parts. 16 pages. Con Spirito Music #747929. Published by Con Spirito Music (A0.1147711). “The Huron Carol†is the popular name for a Christmas song written in the language of the Wendat, an indigenous people of Canada — their name meaning “people of the island†or “dwellers on a peninsula†— nicknamed “Huron†(“boar's headâ€) by French explorers and traders due to the bristly hairstyle of Wendat men.The song began as a tool for teaching and converting the Wendat to Christianity, and it was likely written in the early 1640s by the French Jesuit missionary, Jean de Brébeuf. In Wendat, the song is titled “Jesous Ahatonnia,†which means “Jesus is Born.†The song's melody is based on a traditional French folk song, “Une Jeune Pucelle†(“A Young Maidâ€). Jean de Brébeuf’s lyrics present the Nativity story using images and ideas that would have been familiar to the Wendat. Angels are “spirits†and “sky peopleâ€; the Magi (wise men) are “elders,†and as an act of reverence they oil Jesus’ scalp, a practice Wendat people would have recognized. Today, “The Huron Carol's†most well-known lyrics, beginning “'Twas in the moon of winter-time,†were written by Canadian poet Jesse Middleton and published in 1927 in a small illustrated book titled “The First Canadian Christmas Carol.â€Middleton’s text is not a translation, but a complete rewriting of “Jesous Ahatonnia†for English speakers, and bears almost no relation to the original Wendat text. Middleton relied on stereotypes, critics say, painting a picture of an indigenous Nativity in a “lodge of broken bark,†with “hunter braves†replacing shepherds, and “gifts of fur and beaver pelt†delivered by “chiefs from far.†Still, the carol has long been popular, perhaps in part due to its refrain, “Jesus your King is born, Jesus is born. In excelsis gloria!†and its pairing with the easily singable “Une Jeune Pucelle†tune. This arrangement for brass quintet takes a contemplative, lyrical approach, featuring rich harmonies to the chant-like tune and contrasts in dynamics and tempo that evoke both the quiet peace and solemnity accompanying the birth of Christ.©Copyright 2022 Todd Marchand / Con Spirito Music (ASCAP).
