Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1462284 Composed by Edward Ory. Arranged by Will Corbin. Jazz. 23 pages. Will Corbin #1041039. Published by Will Corbin (A0.1462284). My dad loved Dixieland music, so I arranged a lot of it for his enjoyment (and we made it part of the party we put together to celebrate his life, along with a lot of martinis). Muskrat Ramble was one of the first. It's a Kid Ory tune -- although that has long been in dispute -- that was first recorded in 1926 by Louis Armstrong and his Hot Five. This arrangement is not quite so hot, since it's a kind of tamed down Dixie for two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba.If you need alternative instrumentation, please contact me at wilcor@aol.com.

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1459167 Composed by Bill Danzeisen. Arranged by Will Corbin. Broadway,Latin,Musical/Show,Pop. 24 pages. Will Corbin #1038137. Published by Will Corbin (A0.1459167). A song doesn't get more traveled than this one. American Cole Porter wrote it in 1935 while on a South Pacific cruise between Indonesia and Fiji aboard a British liner. Its roots are in a Latin dance from the French Caribbean islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique. So it's somewhere between a minuet and a samba. The name of the dance, beguine, is Creole (probably pejorative) for white woman. The song was first performed in a Broadway musical called Jubilee. It didn't get much traction until Artie Shaw recorded it with his big band, in a purely swing mode, in 1938; it became the 3rd best-selling recording of the year and set off a new dance craze. Check out the drummer in the YouTube video of Shaw's band performing the song, with special attention to the drummer. It's a young and relatively quite subdued Buddy Rich. This arrangement, for two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba, sticks pretty close to a Latin feel except for a swing break in the middle. If you need alternative instrumentation, I'm happy to help. Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1392477 Composed by John David. Arranged by Peter Night and orchestrated by Peet du Toit. A Cappella. 10 pages. Peet du Toit #975998. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.1392477). John David Williams (born 19 January 1946 in Cardiff, Wales) is a Welsh bassist and songwriter known equally for his work with Dave Edmunds and for his songwriting. In the mid-1970s, David formed a group, Airwaves, along with singer and guitarist Ray Martinez and drummer Dave Charles. In 1978, the group recorded and released an album New Day and a single of the same name (also known as You Are the New Day). The single, performed a cappella, never reached the charts, but was heavily played on radio at the time. A choral version was later recorded by the King's Singers. The song has been covered by some 150 artists around the world. The song So Hard Living Without You got significant airplay in America and peaked at number 62 on the Billboard Hot 100 that same year. Here's a Brass Quintet cover of this exceptionally beautiful composition for your enjoyment.

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1465650 Composed by Harry Warren and Jack Brooks. Arranged by Will Corbin. Film/TV,Pop. 23 pages. Will Corbin #1044262. Published by Will Corbin (A0.1465650). Jerry Lewis ostensibly forked over $30,000 of his own money to the songwriters to come up with something that woluld be a hit for his movie partner, Dean Martin. That's Amore did the job, becoming Martin's signature song. It first showed up in the 1953 Martin/Lewis comedy The Caddy, for which it received an Oscar nomination for best oriiginal song. (It lost to Doris Day''s Secret Love from Calamity Jane.It has been covered countless times, by artists from Annette Funicello to the Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra. This version leans on the trumpets for melody, with the others providing the oom-pah-pah and other support. Nothing fancy -- just fun, and a crowd pleaser. If you need other instrumentation, please contact me at wilcor@aol.com.

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1465633 By Dean Martin. By Luis Demetrio Traconis Molina, Norman Gimbel, and Pablo Beltran Ruiz. Arranged by Will Corbin. Latin,Pop. 19 pages. Will Corbin #1044245. Published by Will Corbin (A0.1465633). Luis Demetrio and Pablo Beltran Ruiz wrote this song in 1953 as Quien Sera? (which means Who will it be?)(indicating the song was probably about something other than dancing when it began). Norman Gimbel wrote the English lyrics for it a year later (he also anglicized The Girl From Ipanema), and Dean Martin promptly recorded it on an album of the same name. It's more familiar today in its Michael Buble incarnation (from which this arrangement picks up bits and pieces). Ladies of a certain age will love it.If you need other instrumentation, please contact me at wilcor@aol.com.

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1462691 By Louis Armstrong & His Orchestra. By L. Wolfe Gilbert, Marion Sunshine, and Moises Simons. Arranged by Will Corbin. Latin. 20 pages. Will Corbin #1041438. Published by Will Corbin (A0.1462691). The Peanut Vendor (El Manisero) was written by Cuban composer Moises Simons in the late 1920s. The song sold a more than a million copies of sheet music and 78rpm records, and sparked rumbamania in the U.S. The National Recording Preservation Board recognizes it as the first American recording of an authentic Latin dance style. It has been covered in recordings something like 160 times, by Stan Kenton, Django Reinhart, Louis Armstrong, Dean Martin and many others. This fairly simple arrangement is for two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba. The tuba lays down a beat while the higher voices swap pieces of the melody. It ain't fancy, but it plays well.If you want different instrumentation, I'm happy to accommodate. Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1465830 By Jeff Kready. By Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin. Arranged by Will Corbin. Broadway,Film/TV,Musical/Show,Ragtime. 19 pages. Will Corbin #1044423. Published by Will Corbin (A0.1465830). This song is from the 1977 Broadway musical Annie (and subsequent movie version), based on the old comic strip Little Orphan Annie. Annie's fellow orphans are listening to host Bert Healy and the Lovely Boylan Sisters (Ronnie, Connie and Bonnie) sing it on the radio program, the Iodent Hour Of Smiles. Yeah, it's that hokey. But a fun piece for two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba with a bouncy ragtime feel.If you need other instrumentation, I'm happy to help. Contact me at wilcor@aol.com.

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Digital Download SKU: A0.1461310 By Eddie Floyd. By Eddie Floyd and Steve Cropper. Arranged by Will Corbin. Pop,R & B. 20 pages. Will Corbin #1040118. Published by Will Corbin (A0.1461310). Eddie Floyd first recorded Knock On Wood in 1966, He wrote the song while staying at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis. Two years later the Lorraine was the site of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.; now it's part of the National Civil Rights Museum. The song has been covered by David Bowie, Eric Clapton and Michael Bolton, among many others. The most successful was an upbeat disco version by Ami Stewart that kind of sucked the soul right out of a very good song.If you need alternative instrumentation, I'm happy to help. Brass Quintet Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1249436 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Chamber,Christian,Easter,Historic. 31 pages. Regis Bookshar #841720. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1249436). Three selections based on Christ lag in Todesbanden (Christ lay in death's bonds) (from Cantata No.   4, BMV   4) - Johann Sebastian Bach - Brass Quintet (2 Trps, 2 Trbs, 1 Tuba) - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download.Cantata No.   4, BMV   4, Christ lag in Todesbanden (also spelled Todes Banden) (Christ lay in death's bonds) is a cantata for Easter written by Johann Sebastian Bach and is his earliest surviving Church Cantata. It was probably written in 1707 when he was 22 years old. It is a Chorale Cantata, a style in which both the text and music are based on a hymn. In this instance, the source was Martin Luther's hymn of the same name which became a main Easter hymn in German Lutheranism.Regis Bookshar has transcribed and arranged three selections based on this hymn tune, two from Bach's Cantata No.   4, BMV   4, and also his Chorale Prelude, BMV 625. They may be played individually or as a trilogy and each movement is more complex than the previous one. The first selection in this trilogy is the Chorale, Christ lag in Todesbanden, the final chorus from his Cantata No.   4, a straightforward four-part chorale setting of the hymn (Regis has also added a fifth part). This is followed by Bach's Chorale Prelude, BMV 625, a piece from his Orgelbuchlein (Little Organ Book), a collection of 46 Preludes for organ, written almost exclusively during the 1708-1717 period, while Bach was court organist at Weimar. For the final selection, Regis has placed the polyphonic and imitative chorus, Es war ein wunderlicher Krieg, da Tod und Leben rungen (It was a strange battle, that death and life waged), which Bach had placed in th middle of his Cantata No.   4.This arrangement is for a Brass Quintet, consisting of 2 Bb Trumpets, 2 Trombones and 1 Tuba. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (31 pages).I hope you will enjoy playing these selections and please search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar. There are numerous selections in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. I think you will be pleased with what you may find.
