The title track of the album, Road Song, was previously known as OGD on the Jimmy Smith collaboration, standing for organ, guitar and drums.
I beleive it was also named that because the musicians saw the abreviations on the mixing console.
This is a transcription of the earlier Jimmy Smith version.
The album by the jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery, released in 1968. It reached number one on the Billboard Jazz album chart and number 39 on the R&B chart. It also reached number 94 on the Billboard 200. It was his final recording before his death of a heart attack on June 15, 1968.Â
The track was originally recorded by Wes Montgomery and Jimmy Smith while Creed Taylor was still with Verve, was not released until after Taylor had left Verve.
