Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1255510 By Ron k Wiggins. By John Baptiste Calkin 1872. Arranged by Ron k Wiggins. Christmas,Classical,Holiday. Guitar Tab. 2 pages. WigMusic #849016. Published by WigMusic (A0.1255510). In 1863 Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote the poem and then Calkin set it to music in 1872.  The poem has been set to several music treatments but the Calkin version has long been the standard and is the melody used in this arrangement.in 1956 Johnny Marks set the poem to a different melody and it was a big hit for Bing Crosby.  So now there are two versions of the song and both have been recorded by numerous artists.  It is the CALKIN melody used for this arrangement.it is a short melody so to make it a performance piece four completely different arrangements have been combined. This also makes it a good instruction piece as several techniques are needed to perform it.

Guitar - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1313790 By Ron k Wiggins. By Gerald Moultie. Arranged by Ron k Wiggins. Christian,Christmas,Classical,Religious. Guitar Tab. 2 pages. WigMusic #902505. Published by WigMusic (A0.1313790). The words to “Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence” is based on the Old Testament book of “Habakkuk 2:20 and became part of the “Divine Liturgy of St James” in the fifth century and was chanted.  The melody had its origins by Gerald Moultie 1829-1885 who based it on a medieval French folk melody called Picardy. There have been other translations and arrangements, most notably by Ralph Vaughan Williams 1872-1958.This relatively easy arrangement for Classical Guitar is first in D minor with the melody in the treble and then a very creative version with the melody in the Bass.  It wraps up in E minor with a lot of open strings and going all the way up to the 12th fret.  The overall result is beautiful and if you can play the basic “F” type bar chord it is not real difficult to play.Note that the YouTube video has a slightly different arrangement (actually a performance error) but I doubt you can find it.  The audio file provided here is correct.

Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1313929 By Ron k Wiggins. By J.S. Bach and Charles Gounod. Arranged by Ron k Wiggins. Christian,Classical,Wedding. Guitar Tab. 2 pages. WigMusic #902507. Published by WigMusic (A0.1313929). J.S. Bach (1685-1750) wrote a series of 24 compositions, one for each major and minor key, and he called it “The Well Tempered Clavier,” which was a keyboard type instrument. The “Prelude in C” has been transcribed by a number of people for classical guitar.  It is basically a beautiful chord progression with a picking pattern.  About 110 years later the French composer, Charles Gounod, added a melody to it and called it “Ave Maria.” It became known as the “Bach-Gounod Ave Maria,” and you can often hear it played as a duet for flute and piano.  Tarrega actually transcribed it for classical guitar in the late 1800s but you would need virtuoso skills to play it. As playability is always a priority in my arrangements I made some compromises.I kept the melody and chord progression and, to the extent I could, the bass notes.  But the voicing, those notes between the bass and melody that were real important to Bach, I just let fall where they may and used common guitar chord forms. The end result Is beautiful, recognizable, and quite playable.
