Guitar - Digital Download SKU: A0.841180 By James Taylor. By James Taylor. Arranged by John Murphy C.S.M.V. Rock. Guitar Tab. 6 pages. John Murphy #5792957. Published by John Murphy (A0.841180). You Can Close Your Eyes     James TaylorLearn this classic James Taylor song and master his characteristic finger picking guitar technique. You will learn: 4/4 Fingerpicking rhythm patterns that you can use in many other songs and other genres.Popular and widely used great guitar chord inversions (also sometimes called slash chords, e.g. G/B )to create interesting bass lines that complement the melody of the tune and give direction and forward momentum to the song’s chord progression. Bass driven chord progressions are a characteristic feature of accomplished guitarists like James Taylor and Chet Atkins.‘Clawhammer’ technique or ‘Travis picking’ are the names often given to a style of playing four bass notes to the bar (usually alternating from root to fifth of the chord played with the R.H.thumb). If you listen to the great country guitarist Chet Atkins you will hear this ‘clawhammer’ style in most of his guitar arrangements.Useful hammer-ons/pull-offs and passing notes that will improve your technique and add a professional touch to enhance your guitar performances. See bar for 8 hammer on the A sus chord and also on the B minor in bar 32. Note the pull off on G chord in bar 11.Intro and outro sections are included in this James Taylor guitar arrangement of ‘You can close your eyes’Most songs have intros and outros so that the singer can get the tempo and start in the right key. However, many published arrangements often just start on a pick-up note or two on the last beat of the bar with no chord indicated and end the song on a chord that is not the tonic or main key chord that tells the listener the song has ended. ‘Leaving On A Jet Plane’ by John Denver is a good example. In the key of ‘D’ the song starts with the notes ‘C#’ and ‘E’ and then the first bar is indicated as ‘D’ major chord. If you start the song playing a ‘D’ chord you will most likely sing the wrong notes because ‘C#’ and ‘E’ belong to the A7 chord of the song. So a simple 2 bar intro of ‘D’ , A7 (start singing on the last beat) and back to ‘D’ would help the singer to get the tempo and sing the correct pick-up notes. The printed sheet music of ‘Leaving On A Jet Plane’ ends on an ‘A7’ chord of the chorus and as such does not indicate that the end chord should be ‘D’. So it is not always safe to assume that the end chord in printed music indicates the key of the song. Lyrics with chord symbols to show when to change chords. Matching the fingerpicking tab or sheet music to the lyrics can sometimes prove difficult so I have included a lyrics sheet of ‘You can close your eyes’ with chord symbols. This is a very popular format to give an indication when to change chords. However, the drawback is that there is no way of knowing how long each chord lasts as the bar structure is missing. But once you learn the bar structure from the sheet music or tab part you will find this Lyrics and chords sheet of ‘You can close your eyes’ your go to page for performing the song until you know it from memory.Downloads available Include:Score Tab Chords Lyrics For GuitarNotes Chords Lyrics For GuitarTab Chords Lyrics For GuitarIf you like or buy this arrangement it helps if you leave even a brief review- two words( very good) or even better one word (Awesome) :) Contact me at info@guitarlessonsdundrum.com

Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1140594 By Rush. By Geddy Lee Weinrib. Arranged by Dan Chernow. 20th Century,Pop,Rock. Guitar Tab. 23 pages. Dan Chernow #740831. Published by Dan Chernow (A0.1140594). As recorded by Rush on the 1975 album 'Fly By Night'. Transcription and Guitar Pro 8 notation by Dan Chernow, copyright 2022. A song written when John Rutsey was still in the band, this upbeat boogie-rocker has that debut album sound....with the exception of Neil Peart killing it on the drums of course. Alex plays around with chunky power chords and a slinky, descending chromatic riff in this one as well as having a blast with a memorable (and very catchy) wah pedal drenched solo. The major key tonality of this tune brought about some country-inspired licks in this solo as well if you listen carefully. You can tell they were all having fun with this throwback tune although this is still only their second album. Have fun learning this uncomplicated but infectious early Rush rocker. As always, all the tiniest details are included here- for the first time. I try my hardest to make only the highest possible quality- and most accurate- Rush guitar transcriptions, like they deserve. From one huge Rush fan to another, enjoy!

Solo Guitar - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1359185 By Duane Eddy. By Jimmie Davis. Arranged by Bettina Schipp. 20th Century,Broadway,Country,Film/TV,Musical/Show. Individual part. 3 pages. Songbooks.info #943642. Published by songbooks.info (A0.1359185). You Are My Sunshine is an Old-Time Music country song from 1939 that became an Evergreen. The authorship of the song is disputed; Paul Rice probably wrote it in 1937. Jimmie Davis acquired the rights to the song, so he is still listed as the lyricist and Charles Mitchell as the composer. The success of the song took some time to come; Ray Charles achieved its best placement in 1962 with seventh place in the US pop charts. Other prominent performers are Doris Day, Nat King Cole, Mitch Ryder, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis. Also in the TV series Star Trek Voyager and in films such as O Brother, Where Art Thou? or Annabelle 2 the song can be heard. The song was arranged for the Guitar and notated in classical musical notation and tablature. The sound of a Vibraphone was used in the setting, so the sound does not mix with the sound of your own instrument. The melody is backed by a metronome and quietly by an organ.

Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1393268 By The Candlelight Guitarist. By J.S. Bach / traditional. Arranged by Brad Powell. Baroque,Classical,Holiday,Instructional,Traditional. Guitar Tab. 4 pages. Geofonica Artistworks #976750. Published by Geofonica Artistworks (A0.1393268). This is a mash-up of the traditional Happy Birthday melody superimposed over J.S. Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 Prelude, arranged for solo classical guitar. This arrangement involved careful editing of essential elements of the Cello Suite Prelude (not the entire piece), tuning the guitar's 5th and 6th strings down a whole step, and adjusting harmonies of the Cello Suite to match Happy Birthday, still retaining Bach's compositional style.  It's an intermediate level classical fingerstyle, similar in difficulty to the Sor Etudes. You can see & hear the full arrangement performed in the YouTube link provided.  LYRICS are included in both English and German.ABOUT: Brad Powell (aka The Candlelight Guitarist) began guitar at age ten, inspired by The Beatles. At 15, he became a protégé of jazz guitarist Joe Pass, and later studied classical guitar under Vincent Macaluso, and at California State University, Northridge under Ronald Purcell, with a master class under Andrés Segovia. Brad was featured performing Gerald Wilson's Sonata for Guitar and Orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl, with the composer conducting. Brad was mentored in composition by David Rose (composer for Little House on the Prairie). Brad has composed music for TV, including Hill Street Blues and The 'A' Team, working with Mike Post. Brad has ten albums as The Candlelight Guitarist. When not making music, Brad is often out hiking with his four dogs. Brad also played as the solo guitarist for Disney's Princess Breakfast Adventure at Disney's Grand Californian Resort by Disneyland (March 2019-January 2024), providing music for the Disney Princesses (Belle, Tiana, Jasmine, Rapunzel, Mulan, Aurora, Ariel, Pocahontas, Cinderella, and their friends and guests).COMMENTS FROM LONG-ESTABLISHED REVIEWERS (for this and other Candlelight Guitarist recordings)...Bill Binkelman - Music Reviewer for Zone Music Reporter and New Age RetailerThe Candleight Guitarist is your tour guide to a land of easy-going, warm, and inviting instrumentals.Rebecca of Amazon - Amazon.com HALL OF FAME TOP 500 REVIEWERBradley Powell's flawless playing allows you to completely relax into sleep or relax into an evening of candlelight and romance.
